About Miles Away
👋👋👋Hello new potential friends! I want to save us some time and start with what is most important: Inclusivity and accessibility. We’ve all been othered at one point or another, that should never happen at a game table, and absolutely not at a paid one. I work my hardest to ensure that my tables are the exact opposite of that. I’m Miles, (He/her/they) and my experience playing and running TTRPG's for over 15 years had made me certain of this: If you want an action oriented game⚔️, heavy on character👾 and sprinkled with absurd moments🥸, epic stories📖, scenes of powerful awe and tragedy🎭, and a liiiittle flirting😍-I am absolutely the right GM for you! I want my games to play like all our favorite TV shows. I love to adapt stories from all sorts of different genres into a tabletop setting. My GMing is heavily influenced by my experience as a professional actor and stuntman, two jobs I left behind because I loved this more. My D&D content is bespoke, carefully crafted, and always custom. I have the luxury to be very picky about who I play D&D with, and what I run when I do choose to. I am absolutely available to play D&D on StartPlaying, but only through private booking, ideally for an established group of four people who like my style and want to go in on a consistent weekly game. StartPlaying is my mechanism to help me play games that aren’t D&D, increasing my skill and flexibility as a DM. How Miles Away runs games
-What you can expect- 🎭Dynamic role play with unique NPCs with accents, and voices! ✍️I work alongside you to create interesting and fun roleplaying opportunities. ☠️Combat that means something with dramatic and dangerous action scenes that move the story forward. 🤝 I practice collaborative storytelling that invites you to help me create the world. 💕 A welcoming place for people with disabilities, neurodivergence, who are LGBTQ+, or are in other marginalized communities 🐣 Help for players who are new or just confused about parts of the system, and help creating fun and dynamic characters with interesting backstories. 🗺️ a combination of descriptive theater of the mind and bespoke maps, and visual aids. 🕶️Rule of cool guides me! -My favorite parts of TTRPGs- 😆Laughter at the table. 👾Roleplaying and improvising. 🤝Making the story with my players. 😈Foreshadowing and little hints to set up for a big payoff later. 📖Creating stories that are both fun and that matter to me and my players. ⚔️Epic and dangerous combat where you feel both awesome, and very in danger!
Miles Away's ideal table
Players I want to play with are kind, flexible, and committed. There's no "skill level" I really want to play with, it's all about the quality of person you are. I can cater to many different styles, and I love all different types of play. From heavily tactical, to deep in role play, to light and casual, I love to sit at a table and tell stories and talk smack with friends.
