About MidnightMoxie
Hey! I'm MidnightMoxie, a discord DND DM who's been dming for about 6 years. I started playing dnd in high school and fell in love with TTRPGs. One thing that makes me different from other dms is that I use homebrew mechanics in all of my campaigns, one of them being the butterfly effect. I also have a homebrew pantheon that's ever expanding and flexible for whatever a campaign's setting calls for. I like to make my campaigns based on what the players do and where they are rather than having minor set events, though yet again there are always somethings you can never avoid. I tend to run theater of the mind campaigns with a map of the where the campaign will be taking place so you can get an idea of where you are. Sometimes, if the battle is big enough and my tablet's compliant, I'll have battle maps for players to make combat easier. I also utilize Picrew and Procreate to give NPC visuals. I only run Milestone.

How MidnightMoxie runs games
Open world, open adventure with one end event that ends it all. I've only run Milestone dnd campaigns (in the process of running a MOTW for the first time!!), though I'm open to learning other systems and running them. I have run dual party campaigns and burst campaigns before, as well as one-shots. I love roleplaying as different npcs and giving them voices, though I'm not the best at accents yet. I've never run a solely by the book campaign, I always use homebrew races and mechanics in my campaigns. Depending on the setting of the campaign I like to split the players into separate voice channels depending on where they are, especially if there's no communication between players in different areas. A mechanic called "crystals" and a language I like to call "the whispers" can help players gain more information as to what's happening, has happened, or what's to come. I also have a homebrew pantheon that can offer players "gifts" or "perks" depending on how long (level wise) they've been following a deity. I also have costs for those who walk the warlock path for the deities.

I deal with rules issues by...
Using a 3 strike system. (If you do something major it might be 2 or a full kick) 1st strike - you get a warning. 2nd strike - second warning and a chat with me after session (if ongoing) 3rd strike - removal from session (if on going) and a kick from the server.
My games focus on...
Mystery, exploration, and whatever your heart desires. I treat my games like a guided open world. I can tell you something's in the Witchery Bog but maybe you'd prefer The Spiraling Towers of Delphi instead. I am a fan of horror!! If you don't like gore, let me know so I can censor things for you.
Rules are...
1. Be respectful. 2. Use channels as they're meant to be used. 3. Let me know if you'll be late/absent at least 30mins-1hr before start time. 4. I have the right to deny any homebrew that wouldn't fit, work, or is to OP for the campaign. 5. Have fun! (I have more but these are the main few)
MidnightMoxie's ideal table
Players of all skill levels are welcome at my table! I'm always happy to learn and teach as we go. Players who don't mind bending the rules and adding some homebrew to spice things up will fit in well at my table. Unless I'm asked to run a BTB, all of my campaigns are homebrew! I'd say the general vibe is light, fun, and a little slow. (I do have a chronic illness that effects my dming process memory/thought wise. I'll answer any questions you have!)

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Who done its! I like starting with some kind of mystery for you guys to solve, whether it be a puzzle or murder.
I think it's a red flag when players...
Don't communicate. Let me help you have fun and feel welcome.
My table is not the place for...
In depth fade to blacks. Just say you wanna fade and we'll say you faded. No sexualization of minors. Limit politics (unless it's relevant to the campaign). No metagaming.
