If you like that style of play I am probably a good fit for you. I prefer story over mechanics, and hope to see some contributions from you to make the story is more fun through role playing. There’s a heavy focus on building your characters background, personality and goals from the get go. I give time for players to socalise with each other in each game to do this. There will be monsters and fighting but also merriment and heart ache. (generally every other game we have a big fight session, while the other is exploration and socialising) I try to conform my style to whatever is best-suited to each party and their campaign. There are so many ways to enjoy this game that I find it works best to ask players a lot of questions, seek a lot of feedback, and always be prepared to adjust. Martin is making my first D&D Strixhaven campaign an absolute joy! His storytelling is immersive, bringing the magical world to life, and his patience with new players like me is incredible. Having a wonderful time with Martin so far. I had only played DnD once almost a decade ago, and his beginner's campaign has been a great reintroduction to the game. Before the campaign even began, Martin shared his resources with the group and walked us through character creation, which resulted in a character that I have completely fallen in love with.

I was a beginner player and Martin was great at getting everyone started, while still making time for some fun. Would recommend Martin for anyone getting started, as well as further on for higher level gameplay, for anyone keen on a solid DM who balances RP and combat depending on what the player want.

Martin has been a great DM in this Strixhaven game I joined. Incredibly helpful and engaging. I joined an already in-process game and he was so helpful in getting up to speed and helping me learn the mechanics of the campaign.

Martin has been my dm for a few years now, and I can genuinely say I still love and look forward to every session I play with them. I started with him as a complete beginner and he was very patient, helpful and understanding both in game and out when building characters or just learning 'how to dnd'! Martin always encourages feedback and communication with players and the dm and always makes sure you are comfortable and happy as you can be whilst being able to fall into the brilliant world and story lines that he creates. 100% would recommend 👍👍
