About me

Jason is an Atlanta based actor with a background in theatre and classical music. Beyond his love of fantasy rpg's, he loves acting, singing, and skiing and camping when he can.

GM Style

A game with Jason will involve richly detailed scenes and a variety of colorful voices, but encourages players to take the lead and allow them, if they wish, to propel the story forward. Jason strongly believes that the player characters are the main protagonists of the tale, and tries to weave each character into the story itself. Jason's games are typically high fantasy with plenty of room for shenanigans! He wants his games to have a blend of comedy and catharsis, joy and terror. He believes that the players set the tone of a game, because at the end of the day, role playing games are about having fun with your friends. Jason has exposed numerous friends to the hobby, and therefore has experience teaching the rules of 5E. He encourages new players to bring their strengths to the table, whether they're problem solvers, role-players, puzzle breakers, power gamers, etc. Jason has experience as a Camp Counselor and a Preschool Paraeducator. His games are typically appropriate for ages 14+, but can adjust to family friendly audiences. Jason has been a DM for the following 5E games: Lost Mines of Phandelver (twice) Dragon of Icespire Peak An ancient Greek homebrew story based on Mythic Odyssey of Theros A Faerûn adjacent homebrew story about dragons (twice) Jason has also been a player in Curse of Strahd, Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, a game of Worlds Without Number, and a plethora of one-shot 5E sessions. Read some player testimonials below! "Jason’s creativity, intelligence, humor, and quick-wits seem to know no bounds. I’ve had the pleasure of playing DnD with Jason as party companions and was blown away by the level of detail he poured into his character and his role playing. Jason has created an entire fantasy world that whose lore and history I’ve been closely following on his TikTok account, proving yet again that he’s not only one of the most dedicated players I know, but one of the most creative. Outside of tabletop Jason is one of the finest actors I’ve had the pleasure to both act alongside and watch as an audience member. He brings a level of humor, joy, specificity, and dedication to all his characters that make working with him incredibly easy, and watching him, captivating. His proficiency on the stage pours into his tabletop role playing, making every character engaging, unique, and fully formed. I will always jump at the opportunity to work with Jason again and again, not only as an actor, playwright, and creative, but especially as an enthusiastic DnD player. He is simultaneously professional and detail oriented, and also one the funniest and most fun people I know, so basically, everything you could ever hope for in a Dungeon Master." - Eryn McVay, Playwright "Jason’s DMing is a huge part of the reason I got into D&D! I was incredibly nervous to join a game, and at first felt like I was always asking dumb questions, but he never made me feel that way and was very reassuring when guiding me through character creation, how to handle spells (so confusing!), and how to play the game in general. He never railroaded us. At least not in a way I could identify, which in itself seems like a feat with how goofy our team was. Our group was always making our own decisions, often incredibly outlandish, and he always rolled with the punches, even making it feel rewarding to take extreme risks. It never felt like anything was too far a reach. He’s also the king of voices. I was genuinely taken aback when I first heard one of our Big Bad Bosses speak. NPCs could be identified by voice alone. And that also made it a safe space for us to experiment with our own character’s voices. Our campaign felt very fulfilling when it came to its end. We all had great natural conclusions and our characters are undoubtedly still hanging out in imagination land without us role playing them anymore." - Robyn Burdick, Caregiver and Business Owner
