About James
I am a fun loving disabled veteran that has been playing ttrpgs for 15+ years. Recently I finished a long running campaign and have been focused on helping new players learn and enjoy Dungeons and Dragons. My goals are to help new players learn how to manage their characters and really get into a ttrpg. I like to roll with the punches and try to make sure everyone gets involved in the game both as a player and a GM.

I ran my first game...
In my kitchen for my son and my nephew's. It lasted for almost 2 years and was a ton of fun and great family bonding.
My favorite books are
The Legend of Drizzt Series The Sword of Truth Series The Night Angel Trilogy
My favorite system of all Time is
DnD 5E is really fluid and I've been able to build some really cool things in it.
How James runs games
In my games you can expect a solid mix of role play and combat. Anywhere from 20/80 all the way to the other end of the spectrum 80/20 (roleplay/combat) it will really depend on what the players decide as a team they value more. Most of my games are designed around introducing new players to the game so your not required to have any knowledge of ttrpgs to start. That being said, all are welcome and having a ton of knowledge is also welcome. I like to roll with the punches and tend to focus more on Rule of Cool meaning if it's cool I'll find a way to make it happen for the team so most ideas can be brought to life easily.

Going over my last session recap and my campaign materials.
My games focus on...
Fun, exploration of character, and learning the DnD system from the ground up.
When it comes to voices
I try my absolute best but I'm no voice actor.
James's ideal table
Gon's Tavern welcomes all and discriminates against none. Come old, come young, come experienced, come fresh, as long as you are kind and looking to learn and grow you will find friends at my table.

I love it when a player
Makes time and room for other players to shine. Maybe you notice something another player does not and you say "hey friend could you take a closer look at this?"
I think min/maxing...
Can be fun for a player as long as they focus on their own character and not others.
