About Justin Greer
I’m a proud nerd with a deep love for all things fantasy, horror, and sci-fi (especially old school science fiction novels). Like a lot of forever DMs, I got my start when my friends wanted to play but had no interest in actually learning the rules. So, I dove in headfirst and haven’t looked back since. I’ve always gravitated toward structure and storytelling, and I believe that, in the words of the great philosopher Bluey, “the rules make it fun.” I’m someone who genuinely enjoys understanding the mechanics of the game; but more than that, I love using those rules to create unforgettable stories and moments for players. One of the most fulfilling parts of being a Game Master for me is helping new players discover D&D for the first time. Whether it’s building a world that is immersive, a memorable NPC, or guiding a table of beginners through their first fight in a dungeon, I find genuine fulfillment in making the game accessible and unforgettable. While I enjoy all kinds of tabletop games, Dungeons & Dragons has always been my true passion and creative outlet.

How Justin Greer runs games
In my games you can expect a balance of structure and storytelling, laughter and tension, lighthearted moments and real stakes. I’m a firm believer that the rules of D&D 5e aren’t just guidelines, they’re tools for storytelling. That said, I’m not afraid to bend the rules when a player does something bold or clever. I want the mechanics to serve the story, not stifle it. My style really leans into fun and immersion. I aim to create a space where players feel safe to go all-in: speak in character with voices, take risks, shape and interact with the world around them. The more you invest, the more unforgettable the experience becomes. Tone-wise, my games often start light and humorous. I find moments of goofiness, joy, and camaraderie are essential. They set the stage for deeper storytelling when the danger creeps in and the stakes rise. I don’t allow evil-aligned characters at my table. I believe D&D is at its best when you’re trying to be the hero. Sure, flawed, struggling, imperfect heroes, but ultimately striving for something good. Those flaws and weaknesses don’t break the story; they ARE the story. If you’re looking for a game that’s structured but flexible and full of heart and immersion, then we’ll get along just fine!

My games focus on...
fun, laughter, high stakes, emotional and satisfying payoffs.
Rules are...
what makes the game fun!
When it comes to voices
I can do a great Kermit, everything else is passable and laughable.
Justin Greer's ideal table
My table is welcoming, story-driven, and built on camaraderie. I love big laughs, and deep character moments. I love when players come ready to engage. Maybe it's a character voice, roleplay, creative choices in combat. You don’t need to be an expert in the rules (that’s my job!), but you should be excited to play a hero and share wonderful moments with others. I like to keep things lighthearted and fun, but that just makes the serious moments hit harder.

I love it when a player
wants to be a hero, (tries to) use a character voice, and comes up with inventive, creative, and character-driven ways to solve any situation.
My perfect party mix is
80's pop.
My table is not the place for...
evil characters, selfishness, people who can't have fun or take themselves too seriously.
