About Sean

I’m Sean (aka) Raka, your Friendly Neighborhood Dungeon Master. I’ve been rolling dice for over a decade and DMing for the last two years, though my roots in storytelling, worldbuilding, and collaborative play run much deeper. I’m an avid writer and creator, spending most of my free time crafting new worlds, refining existing ones, or diving into games with friends. I’ve rewritten and expanded multiple official campaigns—including Curse of Strahd and Waterdeep—and I maintain a growing library of fully developed settings and concepts. Whether you’re drawn to grimdark horror, sweeping high fantasy, swashbuckling pirate tales, gritty sci-fi survival, or sleek interstellar adventures, I have a world ready for your party to leave its mark upon. My focus as a DM is simple: immersive storytelling, player-driven choices, and memorable, character-centered moments. If you’re ready to explore strange places, unravel mysteries, and shape the fate of worlds, you’re in the right place. Let’s tell an unforgettable story together.

How Sean runs games

My DMing style blends narrative depth with highly responsive, player-driven storytelling. I prioritize immersion, rich settings, meaningful character arcs, and a strong sense of atmosphere, while ensuring the game always feels collaborative rather than scripted. I adapt quickly to unexpected choices, encouraging creativity and rewarding bold ideas. I balance roleplay, exploration, and combat so that every type of player has a place to shine. Encounters are tailored not just to challenge the party mechanically, but to highlight their personalities, relationships, and goals. Choices matter in my games: actions have consequences, the world evolves with the players, and character backstories are woven deeply into the narrative. Whether the tone is dark, whimsical, heroic, or mysterious, I aim to make every session feel immersive, cinematic, and emotionally resonant. At my table, players are co-authors of the story, we build unforgettable moments together.

My games focus on...

Roleplay and story-building mostly, with a healthy mixture of combat and puzzles to solve. I am an avid writer of multiple genres, so I try to incorporate a little of everything into my custom campaigns.

Rules are...

More like guidelines if you ask me. Rules are not the end-all-be-all of TTRPGs. We are writing a story. Sometimes, such as when something is really cool or really funny, I will allow the rules to be bent a little for the sake of the story.

When it comes to voices

I have, what I consider, to be a modest array of voices and accents that I am able to pull from. I use a voice synth/changer sometimes for more depth and mystique with patron or dragon voices. I am horrible at voicing women.

Sean's ideal table

My table is a collaborative, story-forward space where character choices matter and worldbuilding is alive around you. I run games with a strong narrative core, rich environments, meaningful NPCs, long-term consequences, and dramatic character arcs. Players can expect a healthy balance of roleplay, exploration, and tactical combat, all woven into a living world that responds to your actions. I’m an adaptable DM who enjoys tailoring the experience to the party’s interests. I support creativity, clever solutions, and bold ideas. If you want a table where your character’s backstory and personal goals genuinely shape the campaign, you’re in the right place. My table is ideal for players who: ~ Enjoy immersive storytelling and character development ~ Like a blend of roleplay, strategy, and emotional moments ~ Respect the group, the narrative, and each other's spotlight ~ Want a DM who listens, collaborates, and builds arcs around player choices ~ Appreciate clear communication and established safety tools ~ Are here to tell a great story together, not compete against the party You’ll fit especially well if you: ~ Engage with the world and NPCs ~ Enjoy discovering mysteries, solving problems, and shaping outcomes ~ Are comfortable with cinematic tension but value table safety ~ Prefer narrative-driven stakes over power-gaming or PvP ~ Want to invest in a campaign with depth and heart This table welcomes both new and experienced players, as long as the goal is shared storytelling and fun.

I love it when a player

~ Is highly descriptive in their courses of action and gets energetic and excited when given the opportunity to be creative. ~ Enjoys playing along with my occasional efforts to cause drama and chaos. ~ Values character development and role-playing as much as they do combat.

I think it's a red flag when players...

~ Interrupt the DM or another player when they are having a spotlight moment. ~ Cause problems for the party on purpose and then claim it's "What my character would do." ~ Are constantly late or don't show up for sessions. ~ Constantly interrupting session to contest a rule (DM me).

I think min/maxing...

I think this defeats the purpose of the game. You don't "Win" D&D, you play and enjoy D&D. It is a game of story, chance, and relationships, just as much as it is a story of combat and strategy. It's fine to optimize your character, but if that's all you focus on, you are missing out on the game.
