About GMSyd
I started running games in 2016 cause I thought Adventure League was too loud and crowded at my local game shop. My main games are DnD 5e and Cypher, though I have experience with Alien RPG, Call of Cthulhu, Star Wars D6, and more! I love comedy and fantasy games but thoroughly enjoy horror and sci-fi. My goal as a GM is to make sure you're having fun and encourage character building/growth. I'm not a RAW kind of GM. While I do defer to the rules on certain things, my overall goal is to keep balance and fun integral to the game. I also give inspiration if you make me laugh out loud while you're in character.

My favorite books are
My top three books are Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey, and Dracula by Bram Stoker. I read a lot of fantasy, sci-fi, and horror.
How GMSyd runs games
I focus on role-play, character involvement, integrating characters into campaign story lines, and practicing my array of voices. I'm not a rules lawyer and will sometimes stray from RAW to either improve combat flow or allow players to do cool things. If you don't show up for a session without notification, I typically wait 30 minutes and marked you as skipped. For single player sessions, I will make sure you are not charged if you don't show up within 30 minutes without notification and cancel the session.

Rules are...
guidelines. To encourage play and learning, I always say "Lets save the technical stuff until after the session." I once spent an hour debating an interpretation with my group over a singular rule. After that, I'd rather not. We lose precious game time.
GMSyd's ideal table
It depends on what the vibe for the campaign is. If it's a more serious campaign, be more serious when it comes to roleplay. If it's a silly campaign, be silly. The game takes on whatever players put in to it. I'm flexible with tone, so it doesn't bother me as much as others.

I love it when a player
Thinks outside the box. A lot of players will default to combat, especially 5e. 5e is a combat heavy, game which makes sense as to why players gravitate towards it. Some of my favorite moments in games are when my players come up with something out of left field.
