Quest Portal

Quest Portal

Quest Portal is a browser-based virtual tabletop, or VTT, for playing role-playing games remotely. At its core, it offers game masters the ability to create campaigns, maps, scenes, NPCs, notes, handouts, and encounters to share with their players. Players can create their characters, track their character sheet, and make a token to represent themselves in scenes. What sets Quest Portal apart is an AI-centric approach to tabletop gaming. For players and GMs who pay a subscription fee, Quest Portal integrates AI into nearly every part of its toolset: image generation for scenes, character portraits, and tokens; generative text for session summaries, notes, and character sheets; AI assistants for rules and campaign planning; and generators for NPCs, backstories, names, and encounters. A library of supported systems and reference documents allows players to freely reference basic rules as well as purchase more support for the games they play.

There are treasures to be won deep underneath, and you shall have them. Return to the glory days of fantasy with the Dungeon Crawl Classics Role-Playing Game. How to Use the Quest Portal Virtual Tabletop

Reviewer Dave Thaumavore offers a tutorial for getting started with Quest Portal. Once you've created an account, you can create a campaign, give it a name, description and graphic, and invite players. Your players will need to have accounts on Quest Portal. In campaign settings, you'll choose a game system and character sheet, then you can add characters. Characters use your selected character sheet, and can generate avatars, tokens, and descriptions for you. You can add characters to your campaign from the campaign page, allowing you to create pre-generated characters or add your players' characters to the game. Drag and drop a character onto a scene to make their token appear, and for a backdrop or map, you can choose from a library of premade scenes, or upload and create your own scene.

Quest Portal also lets GMs create and organize campaign notes, both private and public, to keep everything in one place and create handouts. A number of widgets and tools allow GMs to create tables, track resources, and modify dice rolls from notes. They can also link notes to one another by creating hyperlinks.

Finally, Quest Portal is built on AI generation tools, and this video shows how a GM might use them to generate stat blocks, loot tables, descriptions of people and places, encounters, and quests.
