About Felix Marwyn

Hey Party People! I have been GM'ing for 10 years. Mainly D&D 5e but am starting to venture into other TTRPG systems to broaden my perspective. For the last 2 years, I have been running games at a pub (shout out to Vigilante Gaming Bar in Austin, Texas) and had a blast running for the public! Thought I'd try running games here as well. I love collaborating with players and allowing you to create and share the world. If you enjoy leaving your mark and get fulfillment from seeing your impact on the story, I would love to have you at my table! I also love to learn and to teach so most of my games here will be tailored to any new players. Experienced players are definitely welcome. My priority is making sure that everyone feels welcome and has a good time! I'm an open book so feel free to DM me if you have any questions. Speak to you soon!

I got started GMing...

in 2014 when (embarrassing) I joined a D&D tumblr group, no one had played yet (including myself) and funnily no one had GM experience either so I did the opposite of my introverted tendencies and volunteered to GM. 11 years later and I'm still a forever GM lol

When I'm not running games I'm...

playing video games, watching anime/movies with my two cats, drawing, hiking or doomscrolling lol

How Felix Marwyn runs games

I am self described as a "Rule of Cool" GM. If you've got a fun idea, I am all ears! Collaboration is key. This is not my story but ours. I really enjoy crafting a world with the players at the table so we all feel like we have equal stake in the game. I love to improvise (not professionally) to go with the flow. If something stops being fun, we can always change to prevent any issues.

Rules are...

flexible and there to help. I don't take them as gospel but more as one suggested way to play. I would happily bend the rules to make sure that players have the flexibility to create cool moments for the table.

Felix Marwyn's ideal table

I like to match people's energies so what you put in is what you get. I will happily vibe with a goofy table and have no problem getting serious and dark too. Every table is different but my default is to lean on the comic relief so that I can punch up the drama in a satisfying way.

I love it when a player

plays their character. I know the old "that's what my character would do" trope is pretty exhausting but I love when a player is faced with a choice that they personally wouldn't choose but they know their character well enough that they have to choose that option. Chef's kiss
