I got started GMing...

Back in 2010 when I decided to run a Star Wars Saga Editing campaign with friends.

My favorite system of all Time is

Shadowdark RPG by the Arcane Library

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Passionate, Attentive, Fast Paced

How The Dungeon Dork runs games

• Hero's Journey storytelling • Sword & Sorcery / Grimdark • Narrative & Atmospheric; voices, ambiance, etc. • Combat and Role Play • Cinematic pacing

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...

George Lucas; Faster and more intense was always his direction

I prep by

Building off each session at a time. I have a ton of ideas to play with but ultimately the players make the choices and their choices craft the story. Some of those ideas happen behind the scenes, others come to life because of my players

Rules are...

Ways to keep a game moving. They provide an analog to build your mechanics off of. The rules are beholden to the GM, not tune other way around

The Dungeon Dork's ideal table

Creative, motivated and passionate players will have a great time at my table. I promote active collaboration and creativity at my table.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

Star Wars. I run all my campaigns either heroic over or undertones. Players should come from the common rable; destined to find the greatness they did not know they had before it consumes them against an agent if evil with goals and motivating alien to the players until they see what they really are

I love it when a player

Allows me to put the session on cruise control. When I react instead of proact, I know I did my job. Now, I just sit back and let the chaos unfold!

I think min/maxing...

Is not inherently a bad thing. Players like finding unique combos they want to try out. Most have their fun and move on. My only real concern is when it steals the spotlight and focus from the other players. When done right, they're the other player's favorite teammate
