About Drake

I enjoy and support character creativity in all ways. In my games, the rule of cool wins almost always. I like giving players the freedom to explore the worlds I've crafted for them in whatever way they prefer and adapting to their strategies. As long as everyone is enjoying themselves, I am a happy DM. Though my stories may get dark sometimes, I prefer to have a funny and uplifting aspect to my stories. My philosophy as a dm is that if you can incite genuine emotion in your players you're doing your job right. Almost everything I do is homebrew. I do not like playing by the book. The thing that makes this game fun is the fact that there are infinite possibilities and nothing fits into your world perfectly. I also prefer a visual reference with my campaigns and value telling a story more than following rules. I hope you enjoy what I've prepared.

How Drake runs games

Expect action, turns of events, deception, and drama unless I'm feeling like just having a wholesome setting for the session. I believe interesting NPCs with varying personalities make up the brunt of the story, worldbuilding is a strong suit of mine. I will never say no to the rule of cool unless it severely breaks the game. Players are free to explore homebrew classes and subclasses. Almost everything I do is homebrew from the little world I've crafted, however, I'm open to an ever-expanding library of Ideas. I do my own voice acting, and while I may not be Matthew Mercer, I think I do a good enough job to fully immerse players. In my personal opinion, dnd is about telling a story, turning commoners into legends, doing things that you cannot in your normal, mundane lives. It should feel epic, evoke emotion, and make for an experience you can tell stories about to your friends who are thinking about playing dnd but have no idea how to get started. I welcome diversity in all forms because that's what makes a story interesting. Regrettably, I am in the military service, so I'll have a varying schedule, however, that does not stop me from running one-shots. I'd love to join you on an adventure!
