About Addigale
Hello, hello! I'm Addigale, though I go by Addy. I've run countless games in mostly DnD, but in multiple other TTRPGs (some of which aren't even available on the dropdown list!) for the past almost 10 years. I have played DnD for even longer than that, just over a decade of time. I'm always itching to tell a story and to invite others into the process with me. I thirst for creativity and the arts, and have been a wearer of many hats. I've been a voice actor for longer than I've played DnD, have published my own TTRPGs, audio dramas, and short stories, all while now being a stay at home step-mom! I'm always making something, whether its a story, new campaign, or a drawing for my players. I love to make things easy for players to understand, and love to make lists, write out "cheat sheets", schedules, and pretty calendars for everyone to be organized and have a good time.

developing my next TTRPG, writing, cooking, voice acting, and being the best guardian I can be to my 2 crazy kittens and my 2 wonderful stepsons.
How Addigale runs games
I am a Homebrew-heavy DM. I adore roleplay and lean heavily into themes of character growth, interpersonal conflict, dark, emotional drama, and tense choices. I am always and forever drawn to and love to run stories of survival, underdogs conquering all odds, and accessible gods (why have deities if you can't interact with them?). As a horror fanatic, I always have an element of fear laced in deep with my stories. I typically offer sweeping cinematics to set the scene, and gently welcome in the players one by one to do an intro and speak their mind on the scenario at hand. However, depending on the intensity of the game, I may narrate a grim, bone-chilling intro, then have the players roll death saves as their first moment of play. From intense to cozy and gentle, I love to run it all. There is always a feeling of grounded nature in my games, regardless of how scary or cozy fantasy it may be. I do run games for my children, so I know how to pull back on the fear and make a game cute and comedic instead!

I deal with rules issues by...
a quick pause, looking up official ruling, and deciding from there if rules as written or rule of cool is better in that particular case.
I prep by
using 2 hours of outside game time to write, place the maps and tokens, and listen to music while sipping on tea. I always join the VC 15 minutes before session to do last-minute work and be early for any players with questions.
My favorite trope is...
a whole list! I love these tropes: Reluctant hero(es) Hidden world Cursed objects Deal at the crossroads Found family Underdog
Addigale's ideal table
My table is a "fun first" kind of table. I always go by rule of cool, unless there is some kind of mechanical problem, then we refer to the book. I'm a flexible kind of DM, and I like to run my games with ebbs and flows. My games typically start with very large, sweeping narrations to set the scene, the plot, and the hook, then I allow the players the majority of the time to explore and discover. Often, based on how the players interact with the world, I will change the overall feeling in the narrations to better fit what the party seems to be searching for. If you like large bouts of character freedom and deep immersion, come try my table!

I am for a vibe that's...
flexible. There will be group synergies that are more serious, game focused, and not as humorous. There will be some that are a band of "silly little guys" that make chaos and get hilariously off track. Both are okay and wonderful! But above all, be respectful of others. Be excellent to each other!
If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
horror and dread, pantheon-heavy homebrew, difficult in-character choices, and interactive environments/weather
I love it when a player
engages actively with other players. My job is to give you the world; to lay out your playground. Playing at a playground is easy. Playing with others on a playground can be magic. Be brave, be social! And I'll, of course, help you along the way.
