About dinnerBox

Hi, I'm a 34 year old male from New Zealand. I've been running DND campaigns consistently for about 6 years and embrace what modern VTT's have brought to the hobby. I'm an easy going gm that will facilitate my players and streamline the admin to keep the focus on the narrative. I'm a sucker for a bit of grim dark and more mature themes but know when to keep things light and fun. I love a good book, work as a 3d artist and can't wait to become part of a really great community.

Running games for friends. I originally had plans for my own expansive world setting but quickly got swept up by the existing lore for dnd.

How dinnerBox runs games

My game sessions revolve around player agency, using the tools as the GM to help players visualise and understand the world around them. My sessions are a mix of over arching world maps, complex battle maps and roleplay vistas that help establish place and atmosphere and while I'm a big fan of automation, I also know when to overrule the digital tools. I'm a big supporter of third party content and subscribe to many patreon's, giving my games a wealth of high quality content including detailed spell animation's and beautifully crafted maps or magic items. Combat is played on a grid and is designed to be fast and dangerous with the focus being on the narrative elements of the campaign. And of course I highly embrace the rule of cool, with the expectation that my sessions are designed to be high stakes, high intensity and oozing with atmosphere. Join me in a campaign if the thought of fast combat, lots of discovery, complex themes, exciting world building and the thrill of adventure interests you.
