About Michael (Mike)
Hello! My name is Michael and i’ve been playing TTRPGs since 2002 and have been DMing since 2018. I have 5 completed multi-year campaigns under my belt, 2 of which have been fully homebrew adventures written in parallel to the canon Pathfinder and D&D lore and mythos. I have hosted games for people of all ages across multiple platforms and have no issue in terms of flexibility for my players! In my professional life, I have worked in corporate management for 5 years at an arcade entertainment company, which has allowed me to further grow my experience with directing and organizing events or large groups of people. I have a healthy and friendly relationship with all of my players and am confident that any of them would vouch for my ability. I am also an enormous fan of Dimension 20, Critical Role, and Legends of Avantris. Living near LA has allowed me the opportunity to go to many events hosted by the cast and crew of these shows and experience the excitement of their games firsthand. It has also allowed me to gain insight into what some people may come into this hobby expecting from a DM. Naturally not everyone is a Matt Mercer or Brennan Lee Mulligan. I pride myself on being able to deliver a comprehensive and interactive storytelling experience that reminds players what TTRPG’s are really about: Fun!

My favorite books are
The LOTR trilogy, The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, and Sandman Slim by Richard Kadrey
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Entertaining, flexible, and welcoming!
When I'm not running games I'm...
Writing short stories, playing games (about 3/4 of the way through Baldur’s Gate 3 currently!), or going birding somewhere in Southern California!
How Michael (Mike) runs games
I absolutely love the art of crafting a setting spectacle and letting my players’ imaginations go wild! Let me build your canvas and provide you the paint for what is sure to be a beautiful and unique painting. In my opinion, roleplay and combat are two sides of the same coin. If I were to attach numbers to my campaign’s supposed combat and roleplay breakdown, I would say it is a clean 50/50 split between the two. I am nothing if not flexible, so just let me know your preference and we can work out the specifics well before the session!
Michael (Mike)'s ideal table
First and foremost, Respect is the number one rule for all of my tables. We are all writing this story together, so let’s make sure everyone at the table is comfortable and enjoying their time! Secondly, my table is always a little chaotic, but that’s how it should be if everyone is having a good time! The one rule that I absolutely cannot stray from is that “Everyone has their moment”. I have no qualms quieting down an unruly party member so that the shy half-elf druid can have their Braveheart moment with their several woodland critter npcs moments before combat. Last but not least, communication is key! If we are ramping up for our final BBEG battle only for a sudden work trip to demand the bard’s attention, just let me know! I’ve spend most of my professional life managing dozens of people across the US so I absolutely get that sometimes things don’t work out the way we expect! Maybe our big BBEG encounter will take a raincheck and the party will finally tie up that loose end they keep putting off instead. I’m nothing if not flexible!
