About Herb
I have been playing some sort of TTRPG since 2003. I've been a GM for the vast number of those years. I got my B.A. in graphic design and game design and took acting classes in college. I've done a little bit of everything to become a pretty well rounded DM. Like a bard, I'm a jack of all trades, master at none. My games are often focused on some light humor and word play. I will often insert a joke to lighten the mood, but when the moment needs to be serious, I will give it room to breath. My tables can be challenging as I do appreciate a tactical game, however I will focus on playing fair. So as long as my players aren't being too self destructive, and utilizing the full breath of their abilities, they won't normally have any issues with my combats. Finally, my games are open minded and welcoming. All sorts are welcome and should feel at home. Taboos are respected and will be avoided if requested. No one should feel uncomfortable at my table unless that's the sort of game they want to play in. I am an adult and will run an adult game, however, I respect if anyone wishes to avoid any given topic or theme.

When I'm not running games I'm...
Often enjoying rogue like video games such as Slay the Spire or Monster Train. I'll often enjoy co-op autochess, such a duo battlegrounds or TFT. I also enjoy most animated TV shows, indi-cartoons such as the Glitch shows or hazbin hotel. I am a big comic book guy as well.
How Herb runs games
I am a light hearted, high action and fantasy sort of dm. I make custom subclasses, magic items and monsters on the regular and love to voice act out multiple different characters. I'm a very tactical GM who enjoys a difficult but fair combat. I also enjoy seeing players try to talk their way out of a fight, and will allow it on occasion if the players are more inclined to role play. In this way, I'm a fairly flexible GM. Lastly, I enjoy using some of the simpler modules, like Lost mines, because it leaves a lot of room for me to include player BG elements without being bogged down with to much campaign baggage. So if you like a light hearted, sort of comedic game that can take itself seriously when it needs to, sort of like a Saturday morning cartoon, I'm the GM for you.
Herb's ideal table
The vibe I like at my table is one where a witty joke can be heard every few minutes. A group who tactically communicates to win a combat through carefully executed strategy. As well as a group that when a death happens, or a serious event occurs, the plays go quiet and listen to what those involved have to say. My players feel powerful, but my world fights back, and if they mess around, they will find out.
