About Lewis
Hi! I’m Lewis Zilog. I’m part of La Taberna Rolera (The Roleplaying Tavern), a big TTRPG community in Mexico City, and I’ve also worked with the ArcadiaLibre Podcast. I’ve been running games for over 5 years now, starting from simple sessions in a small apartment with just some notes and a D&D book, all the way to hosting tables at MEGA XP, the largest tabletop gaming expo in Mexico. These days I run about five games a week—four as a DM and one as a player—and I also host a monthly Daggerheart podcast on an online radio channel. As a DM, I love mixing storytelling with collaboration. I’ve run a lot of official modules, but I always weave in player backstories to make the adventure feel personal. I also enjoy tweaking modules or creating full homebrew campaigns when the table wants something unique. I’m comfortable using Roll20, D&D Beyond, Project Sigil, and even TaleSpire, and I focus on making games immersive and fun. My style leans toward roleplay, atmosphere, and player creativity—I prefer fiction and storytelling over strict rules, though I know the mechanics well. Improvisation is one of my favorite tools, so no matter what direction players take, I can keep the story flowing. If you’re looking for a DM who values collaboration, immersive roleplay, and building unforgettable stories together, I’d love to welcome you to my table!

I became a GM because
I love creating worlds where players can laugh, feel, and shine together. My tables mix humor with deep roleplay, encouraging creativity and teamwork. When players build the story and discover things naturally, that’s when the real magic happens.
My favorite shows/movies are
Movies mainly: Treasure planet, Truman Show, The tree of life, The Godfather. Shows(all format types): Vox machina, critical role, Who's Line is it anyway, SNL
When I'm not running games I'm...
I’m working on other projects like a podcast, streaming, preparing my other tables… and, of course, my day job.
How Lewis runs games
I love creating a balance between immersive roleplay and tactical gameplay. My tables often feature high-stakes drama mixed with calm moments and fun moments, like the classic “beach episode,” so players get both the intensity and the fun. I also make sure to match the tone of the party—if the group leans toward deep, serious roleplay, I’ll commit to that atmosphere, and if the table prefers lighthearted, silly fun, I’ll embrace that energy too.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
james gun, christopher nolan, guillermo del toro or wes anderson.... I have had all types of narrative and players.
Rules are...
The rules are a guideline for our world, not a strict way to play. They help us create epic moments we might not think of on our own and sometimes they can be bent or even broken if it makes the story more exciting.
When it comes to voices
I love doing a tone of voices, so be prepared for that!!!
Lewis's ideal table
My table is usually lighthearted, with plenty of room for jokes and moments of comedic relief. We also enjoy diving deep into roleplay, really feeling the emotion and weight of the story when the moment calls for it. The most important thing is to have fun and work together to create epic, memorable moments. Everyone gets their time in the spotlight, and we love cheering each other on when it’s their turn to shine. I really enjoy creative thinking. If you come up with a clever way to use a spell, item, or ability, go for it! As long as it fits the story and the moment, we’ll find a way to make it work. Backstories are as important as you want them to be, but keep an eye out for the threads of your own story . always have a few surprises waiting for everyone. And finally, it’s super important to avoid metagaming. My tables often include experienced players and other GMs, and we all agree that keeping player and character knowledge separate helps the game stay fun and immersive.

I love it when a player
I love when the players create a moment together and I can just sit back in silence, watching all the emotions and roleplay unfold without needing to step in. It’s even better when they piece things together on their own, without any metagaming.
I think metagaming...
Is not very good for story telling, because it removes from the fiction, how can a halfling that has been on their little town without any worries at all, know who Nine Fingers Kenee is on Baldur's Gate right away?
I think min/maxing...
Is good as long as every other player is also min/maxing, this way you can create an epic level adventure their size. Why not? As long as everyone is having fun and loves the format, who cares? But be respectful if it doesn't fit the Aim of the story.
