About Joey
I’ve been GMing for around twelve years now, and I’ve run enough different groups that I’ve learned how to adjust to whatever style people bring to the table. For me, the most important thing is that everyone’s actually having fun and feels like they’re part of something cool. I use a lot of tools when I run games — animated maps, music, digital resources, all that good stuff. I can’t draw to save my life, but I make up for it with prep and atmosphere. I’m very comfortable homebrewing rules or mechanics when needed, and I’m always willing to work with players to keep things balanced and interesting. My approach is that the story belongs to the players. The world and the NPCs are there to react to you, not overshadow you. I like giving people space to explore their characters, make big choices, and have their own standout moments. If that’s the kind of game you’re looking for, feel free to reach out.

How Joey runs games
My DM style leans way more into roleplay than combat. I’m here for the character moments, the drama, the dumb choices, the emotional chaos… all that good stuff. Combat still happens, obviously, but it’s more of a tool than the whole point. Fights push the story forward — they’re not just random brawls to fill space. As long as everyone is actually collaborating and helping build the story together, I’m happy. I don’t need to be the center of attention, and I don’t want NPCs taking over. I want the players to drive the narrative and shape where things go. So basically: heavy RP, story-focused, combat with purpose, and everyone working together to make something fun. That’s how I run games.

Joey's ideal table
My table is roleplay-forward, narrative-driven, and built around collaborative storytelling. Players are encouraged to speak and act in character, make meaningful decisions, and engage with the world on an emotional and thematic level. Combat is important, but it’s treated as cinematic storytelling rather than strict simulation. I use the Rule of Cool regularly to keep scenes dynamic, fluid, and memorable. Sessions blend dramatic character arcs, creative problem-solving, and high-energy action. The tone ranges from heartfelt and serious to stylish and adventurous, with space for humor and interpersonal connections.
