About Jeremiah
Old school D&D player. Started playing as a teenager with AD&D, second edition. Started to DM with 3rd and 3.5 D&D, running table top games for over 10 years. Life made it hard to play for a while, but I started getting back into it with 5th edition because of BG3. Now back into the DM seat as I love the newest 2024 or 5.5 edition. Start playing has given me access D&D that was lost to years of scheduling conflicts, the real CR 20 monster. My playstyle is more old school table top, but I do love the VTT option of playing. Using mixture of theater of the mind with VTT for complex encounters. Mixture of home brew campaigns that I have been working on, and some published campaigns.

Thinking up cool character concepts, making adventures in my head, thinking of cool campaign ideas. Or working in Emergency Department as a nurse of 30 years.
How Jeremiah runs games
Open world play, giving players’ choices that matter instead of a linear game with no options. Not just choices, like what quest to run, or left or right at a fork leading to the same ogre camp. Every room/encounter has a choice. Describing surroundings in a way that lets players know what is there and might be good to investigate or just say “nah I want to go through the next door. Encourage role playing not just between combat, but during combat. I strive to lead by example, keeping the enemies consistent with their roles, taunting, fleeing, protecting leader, whatever is in their role. Voice acting both in and out of combat to keep it consistent. Quick descriptions of regular combat moves/roles while keeping game moving. More detailed descriptions on critical hits and misses to describe the fantastic event. I don’t use critical hit or miss tables, just narrate something that is cool and not punishing to the party. I try my best to make combat tactical, inclusive for the party. Rewarding good tactics and the party working together. Mabe finding unorthodox way of defeating opponents. Using the environment and hazards to advantage. Traps that might have been meant for the party, being used against the monsters. In the end, it is a collaborative story between the players and the game master that makes the game session fun. Sometimes there is high stakes combat, other times it is role playing your way past the guards or sneaking into a prison.
