About Chazz
I've been a professional actor and improviser for 15 years. I perform, teach, and produce (primarily) improv anywhere between 3 to 5 times a week. I have a specialty in character relationships, story building, and authenticity, and I am no stranger to letting playful moments blend in and out with serious and honest moments. I played my first D&D 4E game in 2008 with some high school buddies, and absolutely fell in love with TTRPGs since. I have run games that have lasted 2 to 3 years, while my longest game was 6 years. These days, I mostly play one shots or 4-6 session games. I've played games from Old-School Essentials, to FATE, and the FFG Star Wars game; plus, I have a shelf full of games which I haven't quite gotten around to playing... yet. (But isn't that just the story of the TTRPG world?) I have already been running games for friends and also professionally for 5 or so years, and I am hoping to increase the frequency of time at the table making stories with others. When it comes down to it, I am simply excited to bring my experience as an improv actor into the world or TTRPGs while discovering play, emotions, and lots of specifically tailored mini-games to players all around.

I became a GM because
On day one of my first homebrew campaign, the GM dropped out 10 minutes before the game. I was hosting a full table of friends. So I decided to grab the rules, and do the best that I could. That campaign lasted 6 years.
My favorite system of all Time is
Powered by the Apocalypse. I love how lean the system is while encouraging players to really take agency of the storytelling. I loved to be surprised by my players as much as they are surprised by me!
When I'm not running games I'm...
Performing improv! No matter what I'm doing or where I'm at, I'm constantly telling stories, building worlds, and collaborating with other creatives and loved ones.
How Chazz runs games
Think of me less like a rulebook and more like a co-director. I build the world, you breathe life into it; and together, we shape the story in real time. My games are collaborative, character focused, and improv driven. I love players who come with ideas, quirks, and emotional curiosity. We’ll dive into backstory, explore hard choices, and make space for both absurdity and sincerity. Combat? Absolutely! But you won’t find a spreadsheet battlefield. What matters to me is why you fight, what you risk, and how the aftermath lands. Expect a blend of humor, depth, and the occasional unexpected twist that makes you shout, “Wait, WHAT?” I’ve spent over a decade in the improv and theater world, and I bring that listening, responsiveness, and trust into every session. You don’t need to “perform” here. Just show up, stay curious, and play.

I once ran a session...
On five sketches of rooms that were basically thumbnails. I thought the session was going to be 2 hours. Turns out they expect it to be 10!
My games focus on...
giving players the opportunity to explore their characters, the world, and their friendships more and more.
Chazz's ideal table
Storytellers, explorers, instigators, and character first players will find a comfortable home at my table. I want to challenge characters as well as players, and create a space where epic stories are made.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Big, brave, bold actions
I love it when a player
isn't afraid to give their character some consequences for their actions. A character shouldn't suffer just at the GM's hands :p
I think metagaming...
is fine when it is a tool for diving deeper into the story, rather than separating the story from the game.
