About Ronzae

Hello there, and welcome to what I hope will be a great experience for everyone who decides to join my table. A little bit about myself, I got my start in the space with D&D 5E (2014 and 2024) and have expanded my horizons into Daggerheart just recently as it came out and I dove deep right into it. I love being a player, but have also developed a passion for being behind the screen and creating campaigns worth investing time, energy and emotion for both player and DM and hope to embark on a new journey with new companions.

I got started GMing...

Because I love sharing the moment with friends and want them to be able to enjoy something I found so much richness out of in the space. I do love being a player, but theres get a certain level of excitement during prep when endless possible opportunities and scenarios swirl through my brain.

My favorite shows/movies are

I’m heavily influenced by high fantasy settings and Anime. I would say more then movies I love My game of thrones, Final Fantasy video games where I draw a lot of inspiration and anime’s like demon slayer, Naruto and a bunch of others

My favorite system of all Time is

I have to go with the Grand daddy D&D 5e for me, it got my into the space as a whole and I love the lore , worlds, and mechanics that have been created in the space. I am starting to venture forth into Daggerheart now as well

How Ronzae runs games

Game style - I try to find a balance of social interaction, Combat, and exploration (the 3 pillars) so they all come together and make an amazing experience. It also depends on the group preference in the long run, I focus on making a game customized to each member for my table. Session 0 allows me to gage which direction we go in as well. Combat style - I go with RAW (rules as written) and optimized combatants and synergy to make an encounter have an impact. I also go with the flow of the game, it may be a challenge or it may be a light walkthrough depending on circumstances - AND IN ANY PART OF THE GAME I leave room for rule of cool or cinematic moments. For my players, you wanna make something happen lets roll some dice and see if it does. Voices - I will keep it pretty honest , I am good at voices , not the greatest with accents but i will always try my best to invest in my Npcs and bring them to life at the table. Role Play- This heavily depends on individual players for me at the table, If the party wants to RP the full interaction we spend the time and we resolve it , if a player would rather just narrate the decisions , actions and conversations (more so for 5E) I'm down for that as well. Strictness of system - I mainly tread the line of RAW (with slight homebrew). But I firmly believe in the rule of cool and I try not to make my players roll unnecessarily. Any more questions feel free to throw me a message and we'll chat, im always down for the cause lol.

I deal with rules issues by...

Making a reasonable decision in the moment based on in game situations to keep the game running , but I’ll always look up to clarify how things should be done in between sessions and let my players know how it will be ruled moving forward.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...

Michael Bay or James Gunn for sure lol.

Ronzae's ideal table

I like to run games welcoming to everyone in the space , and I think like being in a game is more then just running mechanics on a sheet but a way to meet new people and socialize or indulge in a new world of wonder and express creative thinking. I do like to run 18+ games so most content is possible at the table (although I establish lines and veils before hand). I keep a fairly light hearted environment that can get serious in moments where it’s needed. I like to provoke thoughts and emotions out of myself and my players to create a real interactive space to remember though the use of all 3 pillars of play.

I think metagaming...

There’s a fine line between using game knowledge to interpret what’s going on or help others understand vs metagaming to “win” your game. I personally feel that while meta gaming can’t be fully avoided the focus is keeping it contained and respectful & not ruining the game of other players.

My perfect party mix is

A variety of Mixed races and classes , I find a balance of martials , magic users and atleast one healer usually makes for great story telling and less stressful situations for the players & myself.

My table is not the place for...

Disrespectfully treating anybody or yourself. I create a space with my players that everyone looks forward to showing up to every session and look to built friendships not bring people down for any reason (religion, politics, sexuality etc.) Lets be who we want to be and enjoy rolling dice.
