About Rollsmith

Hey there, my name is George! Throughout my time behind the screen I have come to love many systems and I always enjoy trying new things. Whether you want classic dungeon crawls, gritty noir mysteries, or weird science fiction adventures, I run games across many unique systems. Whether you’re a new player curious about diving in for the first time or a seasoned adventurer looking for your next big story, I’d be thrilled to help create unforgettable moments at the table with you.

I got started GMing...

During the Covid years, like many others. The company of my friends and the memorable adventures we shared convinced me that this was something I would be passionate about for a long time.

How Rollsmith runs games

I like to weave together homebrew, published material, and player's ideas and choices into my games to create original, one of a kind experiences. I strive to create deeply immersive journeys by engaging more than just the imagination, I bring the game world to life through evocative descriptions, distinct character voices, carefully curated soundtracks, and well-polished visuals. Player choices drive the story, with a strong emphasis on improvisation and roleplay. In my games, your decisions shape the narrative and combat is meaningful but not always necessary, as many challenges can be solved through creative problem-solving and diplomacy. NPCs are complex and often morally gray, with their attitudes and actions evolving based on how players interact with them, making the world feel alive and responsive.

I deal with rules issues by...

Winging it. In my games rules discussions rarely take place and immersion takes the lead. I prefer to bend or ignore the rules when it suits the game, and I rarely go through the rulebooks or forums to find specific answers.

Rollsmith's ideal table

My table is a friendly, laid-back environment where creativity, mutual respect and collaboration come first. Players are encouraged to explore freely, make bold choices, and shape the story together. The focus is on role-playing, character development, and storytelling over strict rules or min-maxing. Mistakes and surprises are part of the fun, and everyone has a voice in the adventure.
