About Brian M.

Hey there, adventurers! I’m a husband, father, and lifelong tabletop enthusiast and 20 years experience playing Dungeons & Dragons. For me, TTRPGs are all about collaborative storytelling, creative freedom, and building memorable moments at the table with fantastic people. From fantasy to Sci-Fi, superheroes, and anything in between, I love the freedom roleplaying brings to explore these genres. I am excited to create stories with you!

How Brian M. runs games

As a Game Master, my primary goal is to create an immersive, engaging, and welcoming environment where your choices genuinely shape the world. I specialize in D&D 5e, running everything from classic high-fantasy module campaigns to rich, homebrew worlds and sandbox explorations. Here is what you can expect at my table: Character-Driven Narrative: Your character’s backstory, motives, and personal goals won't just sit on a sheet—they will actively weave into the overarching plot. Balanced Gameplay: I strive for a healthy mix of tactical, thrilling combat, dynamic roleplay, and intriguing exploration or puzzle-solving. Rule of Cool: While I keep games running smoothly within the rules, I will always lean toward fun, clever, and cinematic player ideas over rigid technicalities. If it it cool and makes sense for your character, I am here for it! Inclusive & Safe Environment: Table safety and player comfort are top priorities. I foster an open, supportive space where both veterans and brand-new players feel confident to jump in and roleplay.

I once ran a session...

where the party began their journey inside a magical mansion in the Feywild. Thanks to the players' incredible exploration and out-of-the-box thinking, the house gained sentience right then and there. Adapting on the fly to turn a simple location into a beloved character is why I love running games!

My games focus on...

rich roleplay and total player agency. I construct dynamic, reactive worlds where your choices genuinely alter the story, and every character gets their moment to shine through high-stakes decisions and personal character arcs.

Rules are...

an essential foundation for clear gameplay, but never a barrier to great storytelling. If you come up with an incredible, out-of-the-box idea, rules take a backseat to the Rule of Cool so we can bring your heroic vision to life.

Brian M.'s ideal table

My table is an open, welcoming, and story-first space centered on collaborative storytelling, memorable character moments, and plenty of laughs along the way. I focus on creating a supportive, high-energy environment where everyone feels comfortable stepping into the spotlight, making bold choices, and bringing their creative ideas to life. Whether we are navigating high-stakes combat, unraveling a dark mystery, or sharing a cozy roleplay moment around a tavern fire, the atmosphere is always lighthearted, inclusive, and fun.

I am for a vibe that's...

immersive, and character-driven, with plenty of room for epic triumphs and genuine humor.

I love it when a player

brings a character with a real flaw or a personal goal, and actively looks for ways to weave their story into the group’s journey. There is nothing better as a GM than watching a player take a narrative hook, run with it, and create an incredible moment.

My table is not the place for...

PvP, main-character syndrome, or players who put "winning" above the group's collective story and safety.
