About Thorin

Hello all. A little about me. I have been playing and running dungeons and dragons games for 30 years. My games are a mix of role play, combat, and storytelling. For me the best part of the game is seeing the players complete an encounter and the joy in their voices upon realizing their achievement.

How Thorin runs games

I provide a game that is equal part's role play and combat. I want everyone to have fun. I am not a rules lawyer. I believe the rules are there for guidance and balance but if there is something you want to do just ask. Depending on the situation I may say yes or no. I do voices for npc's however I am not a voice actor.

Is a combination of the quest and the mysterious artifact. I absolutely enjoy games where a journey takes place to achieve a specific goal or fulfill a prophecy while adding in a mysterious artifact the party needs to find or protect to achieve the goal.

My games focus on...

Not only the story in the adventure/campaign, but the story of the players in the game. Without the players there is no adventure/campaign to run. It's the players telling the story in their actions and encounters.

When it comes to voices

I do the best I can. I do voices for NPC's and creatures however I am no voice actor but do the best I can to provide a very immersive game for my players.

Thorin's ideal table

At my table you can expect to find a good mix of roleplay and combat. Rules as written is just a guide line but not the law. If you want to do something that go's against rules as written and make a good case for it I will allow it. I am here to have just as much fun as you the player and enjoy seeing the players at my table succeed. With that being said actions do have consequence's for better or worse.

If your into roleplaying, solving mysteries, and defeating evil you will have a great time at my table. All stories have a good mix of interaction, mystery, problem solving to defeat great evil's. At the end of the game I am not running an adventure I am telling your story as you play the game.

I love it when a player

Takes notes. I do my best to take and post notes for the players from game to game. But I love when a player can give me a run down of where we are at and why. Makes me feel like that player is into the game and excited about it.

Rules lawyers. Rules are a guideline for how the game is to be played. However rules are meant to be stretched and sometimes broken.
