About the adventure

Beyond the sterile hum of this computer screen is the start of a new journey into a world of splendor and terror — Chimera. Together, we'll set forth beyond the halls of the Heroes guild, where your character has taken classes as part of your trade as an adventurer. You will fly over cloud oceans, venture through the petrifying desert — stalked by the wriggling heads of wolves, take shelter alongside the caravans and campfires of diverse folx, and combat the minions and machinations of villains vying for power — as they so often do. This journey has dark elements and includes social commentary, but unlike the trendy grimdark fantasy that punishes hope and trust with random death and weak subversion, our journey is based in hopepunk; we can affect great change simply by acting on what matters. If this is what you need in the world right now when so much is going on, I warmly invite you to join us — for a Tale Beyond the Tall Grass.

About me

If you're reading this, I'll bet we've got one thing in common already: we want to be a part of a good story - the kind that sticks with us. Nice to finally meet you - I'm Moro, an indigenous storyteller. I'm inspired by stories from Legend of Zelda, Lord of the Rings, Studio Ghibli. These narratives often revolve around heroic struggles & triumphs, overcoming dread and collapse through radical hope, and sometimes just punching god. You can expect my storytelling and worldbuilding to be: 🤝 Collaborative ⚓ Immersive 🏳️‍🌈 Inclusive 🎭 Character-Driven

Moro is, without a doubt, unquestionably one of the best game masters I've ever played with. Capable, knowledgeable, and kind, they roll with the punches and leaving plenty of space for us to play and have fun in while striking a killing balance of levity and deathly serious. I cannot gas Moro up enough. She's constantly Up To Something™ and I love every minute of it.

Moro is a fantastic story teller who creates immersive worlds using maps, visual aids, music, and voices. If you're still learning the ropes with TTRPGs, she will make sure all your questions are answered while keeping the game running smoothly. If you've got a fun idea for a character but aren't sure how to make it work, Moro will work with you to bring your vision to life.

Moro is a masterful storyteller with an instinctive grasp of tone, character, and emotional depth. While I haven't had her as a GM directly, I've played at multiple tables alongside her and GM'd for her and I've witnessed her incredible ability to weave narrative tension, subtle foreshadowing, and layered character arcs in real-time. Her worldbuilding is immersive and human, filled with beauty, strangeness, and fun in equal measure. If you're a player who loves emotional storytelling, thoughtful worldbuilding, and a GM who deeply values character agency and safety, Moro's table is exactly where you want to be. Her inclusive, affirming approach creates a space where players feel both seen and empowered to tell the stories they want to tell.

Hey you, I'm so entirely grateful for Moro. Moro is a brilliant storyteller. Period. I have had the distinct honor and pleasure of being at a table with her for a few years now and I have watched her delicately craft a story in real time. The way she visualizes every single move she makes, every detail of the craft is in a word, masterful. Playing with Moro is nothing short of fun on wheels. An experience that will reshape how you define play, redefine how you play, and refine what it means to have community. àṣẹ-o

This GM puts a lot of thought into the worlds they create and genuinely seems to care about giving the players a fun experience.

Character creation
Creating your character

Character creation will happen during Session Zero, where players will make their own character and collaborate on how they know other characters. I will provide my homebrewed setting both Gothic and High Fantasy for free that give additional quirks, custom weapons, and campaign details.

Safety
How Moro creates a safe table

I am a firm believer that if the players don't feel safe to be vulnerable, then fun can't happen. With this in mind - we will be using the following Safety Tools: 1️⃣ An expanded Monte Cook Safety Checklist provided at the start of Session Zero that must be completed before the game begins. 2️⃣ X, N, & O cards / messages - if it is posted anywhere in Discord, Discord DMs, or Roll20, the session will be paused, stopped, and a discussion can be had after a break. 3️⃣ Rewinds and Aftercare - a check-in during gameplay and after the gameplay is over. There will always be an invitation to DM me on Discord to address anything in gameplay we need to amend.
