The Conjunction of Stars and Minds- Pathfinder 2e: Malevolence
You and your allies have always lived in the shadow of House Xarwin; your dreams and lives are intertwined with something beyond space and time.
About the adventure
Malevolence is a Pathfinder Adventure path that takes place in Ravounel's Crooked Cove, an abandoned seaside town featuring the ominous manor of House Xarwin, a family that seemingly escaped annihilation during Cheliax's retaliation against the Desnans. Contemporary Chelaxian histories describe House Xarwin as a tragedy; they say the family was cursed by Asmodeus for their unflinching dedication to Desna. The Chelaxian patriot and youngest heir Ioseff Xarwin sought to right his family's name, but the crimes of the father became the responsibility of the son, and Ioseff suffered punishment by Asmodeus, despite his devotion to the god's most favored nation. This is the story, but Cheliax's histories are famously falsified, and truth always escapes those who do not experience it first-hand. Although Ravounel recently liberated itself from Cheliax, investigating the mysterious House Xarwin is not one of their priorities. Your characters are determined to do so, having lived their lives in the shadow of the house. Since they were born, they have been drawn to House Xarwin in small ways. Their lives have been marked by a series of oddities that have left an outsized impact on their lives. The house has stolen precious moments from them, and they know that it will steal more. Recently, the characters had a shared dream in which they traveled to House Xarwin, where they believed that they would finally understand the inscrutable control that this house has held over them. In Kintargo, the party found each other, just as the dream foretold. Striking out towards Crooked Cove, they knew that the history of the Age of Lost Omens would receive a new chapter. Hopefully, they will spurn whatever destiny this house has determined for them; hopefully, they will live long enough to write this chapter of history themselves.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I primarily run Pokemon Tabletop United and Pathfinder 2e, but I enjoy a wide variety of systems. I have run many game systems in the past, but have settled on these as my primary systems. For those interested, I have run multiple long campaigns of Dark Heresy, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Vampire: the Masquerade, and Dungeons and Dragons 3.5. I have a deep passion for Wraith: the Oblivion, and a great interest in running a game set during the Great War. I am interested in running a Shadows of Esteren game, and would be interested in being commissioned for a game too. For my day job, I am an English professor. I have a master's degree in Medieval Studies and have done research on the impact of roleplaying games on the cultural imaginary of the Middle Ages. While I prefer medievalist settings, I also love modern and science fiction settings! At the core of every roleplaying game is a human experience, and that translates across time and space. I accept commissioned games at 25 USD per player, and ask for a minimum 3 session commitment. Solo games can be commissioned at 75 USD per session. I am currently running 7 PTU: The Social Ecology of Kanto games and 1 D&D 5e Temple of Elemental Evil game. Knows the Rules
Jordan is one of my favorite GM's i have ever had the privilege to play with. He is and has always (for the near year I've been sitting at his tables) been an absolute pleasure. He is a great listener and communicator, always eager and willing to discuss builds and story beats, always open to player creativity and creative problem solving. Of the different incarnations of his campaigns I have played, they have never felt drab or too similar, always with variety and an attention to detailed story that always leads to something new and exciting. Worth every penny, and truly an excellent connection to have found on the platform. Jordan is a credit to the profession of running games for money with the level of effort he puts in to the world building, storytelling, music and asset management, always crediting artists and promoting their work and being himself a humble king of a human. 12/10 guy, he rocks, would want him to run every system i play.
Jordan is a rising star when it comes to running PTU games. He's committed to learning the game and bringing out the best parts of the system, while having interesting stories and goals to pursue for the players. He strives to make every player have the spotlight and his mediation skills are getting better with every game. He's one of my favourite GMs to play with, and his "Classic Kanto" games are a hit if you want to relive your childhood. Don't count out this underdog, he's got the juice
Thank you it was a great fight. Brock didn't feel like a pushover, which I'm happy about. I'm just kicking myself that I somehow forgot to use yawn. I just wanted the Corsola off the field and that instinct to attack took over. If I just got one more strike in before Skarmory had to be called out I know I would have had it. It feels so much more like the anime now, so I have to thank you personally for that. It was a great nostalgia trip. Thanks again, Jordan. Can't wait for Chapter 2!
Jordan has been a fantastic DM to play under. His creativity and worldbuilding has breathed new life into Pokémon’s Kanto region in our PTU game. He is patient and understanding with new players and receptive to feedback. I’ve never had an issue in one of Jordan’s games and will be happy to play in others in the future.
Jordan is great! I had no experience playing PTU but he expertly guided me through it (and continues to do so), he really really knows the rules but allows and encourages players to get creative and adapt things according to their own creative vision (within the rules). Also, I'm a very shy and introverted person, but my games with Jordan have quickly become a very comfortable space for me, in which my nervousness takes a break for a while. You can also tell how much time and effort he puts into every single little detail in his campaign, which continues to impress me every session, so all in all I can totally recommend Jordan! :)
Character creation
Creating your character
Characters will start at level 3 and receive the benefits of the Free Archetype, Gradual Ability Boost, and Ancestry Paragon Optional Rules. You will also receive magic items appropriate for your level, as indicated in the GM Core (25gp, 1 Level 2 & 2 Level 1 Permanent Magic Items). Character Creation will happen during Session 0, which is Free. You are welcome to come with a pre-generated character, but I have a questionnaire that you can fill out and receive some bonus Lore Skills that will be helpful during the campaign. The Questionnaire can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vC8gM7MppGXOMLWkfg-BO761I_pymLe_Rqsfs2Zy5I8/edit?tab=t.0 The reach of House Xarwin is far- You are welcome to select any Rare or Uncommon character creation options, provided that you can explain how they fit together in your character. The game will begin at the entrance to the Xarwin estate, after your characters have traveled through the lashing rain and howling winds endemic to Crooked Cove. You will begin with the Fatigued Condition unless you have some way to prevent it. I prefer to create characters within Foundry. You might benefit from reading through sarcasticprose's unofficial Malevolence Player Primer too: https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder2e/comments/17afjhq/malevolence_a_players_guide/
What to expect
Preparing for the session
My games are hosted on the Forge, and you will need an account on the website in order to play. We are playing on v12 of Foundry, so Battlecry content will not have automation and will need to be manually input. I would be happy to do this. Voice chat and game administration takes place via Discord, and you will receive the link to the server upon joining.
What Jordan brings to the table
I will provide assets from PDFtoFoundry's import of the module. Narchy's revised maps will be used. Soundtrack will be provided by Syrinscape's adaptation of the module. RAW is my preferred approach, but allowance should be made for Rule of Cool. PF2e has an excellent ruleset which structures play and helps us negotiate our actor's capabilities within the narrative. However, sometimes the ruleset doesn't fit the narrative and should be bent around it. While this is not a first level module, I firmly stand by my listing that this game is "Open to All". If you are new to the system, I will do my best to teach the system and show you why Pathfinder 2nd Edition is great.
