About me

Greetings, fellow travelers, my name is Leland and I am a Storyteller and Game Master with experience in TTRPG's, Live Action Role Play and writing. Whether you are a hero looking for adventure and heroic deeds or a scoundrel who just wants to do the job and get paid you'll find your place at my table. It started for me back in jr. high, over twenty years ago. I loved how much more immersed and interactive a roleplaying game was compared to the board games and video games I grew up playing. The passion for the hobby followed me into university where I created a school sponsored organization celebrating all types of gaming and dedicated to bringing together a community of folks passionate to engage! Since then, I've helped tables as a GM to develop that same community aspect. A place where you don't just show up and leave on time like some 9-5 job, you're here to make memories with some awesome players who love the game as much as you. No matter who you are or what you believe, let's have fun together and see our heroes in exciting action against mighty foes! If all of this sounds like it's up your alley, then come on by, grab some dice, and join me for a memorable adventure! No matter the system in play, as long as you bring positivity and respect for your fellow players, then you'll find a home here. Can't wait to see you at the table!

GM Style

A blend of all pillars of play is my preference in TTRPG's however my style is always to mirror the group that I have gathered around my table. I love storytelling and worldbuilding. I'm very flexible with roleplaying, willing to get into the weeds, or just wing it depending on player style. I do voices, but I don't get crazy, nor do I care if others do or do not use them π‚πŽπŒππ€π“: βš”οΈβš”οΈβš”οΈβš”οΈβš”οΈ (Specializing in LV5+ content!) π‘πŽπ‹π„ππ‹π€π˜: πŸ—£οΈπŸ—£οΈπŸ—£οΈπŸ—£οΈ (I follow the roleplay wants and needs of the party) π„π—ππ‹πŽπ‘π€π“πˆπŽπ: πŸ—ΊοΈπŸ—ΊοΈπŸ—ΊοΈ (Plenty to see and encounter, but not quite fully sandbox) 𝐏𝐔𝐙𝐙𝐋𝐄𝐒: πŸ€”πŸ€” (A good puzzle is a nice change of pace) π‹πŽπ‘π„ 𝐃𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐇: πŸ“–πŸ“–πŸ“–πŸ“– (You never have to guess what the important details are and missing small things won't mess things up for you) My style runs towards a 50/50 split of roleplay and combat. This entirely depends, however, on the group I'm GMing, and the system I'm running. Some systems are better suited to roleplay, and others to combat, and likewise with groups! I would never force a group of narrative-driven adventurers to go through more combat than they like, or make a bunch of dungeon crawlers sit through hours of roleplay if they don't want it. When running roleplay, I love in-depth stories. Mysteries, hooks related to character backstories, voice acting, music and ambience, and as many visual aids as possible. I believe that theatre of the mind is fantastic for roleplay, but that when running online, you often need to substitute other resources because you don't have access to body language and facial expressions to the same extent. When it comes to combat, I prefer a flair for the dramatic. I rarely use monsters as they're written in book, and rely on as many third party monsters as possible, frequently generating my own and using custom abilities to make combat feel more exciting and cinematic. Not every combat needs to be life-threatening, but I believe most combats should have a goal beyond just "kill all the monsters." I vary combat difficulty based on party preference, but have a preference for more thought-provoking combats when possible. πŸ“– Story Comes First I run games with real stakes, strange twists, and moments you’ll actually remember. Your choices shape what happens. 🎭 Character-Driven Play I love PCs who feel like people; messy, layered, and full of heart. If your character matters to you, they matter to me. ✨ Tailored to You Whether we’re running a published module or something homebrew, I shape the world around your characters and ideas. 🌍 Collaborative Worldbuilding Your backstory helps define the setting. We’re telling this story together, and your input matters. 🀝 Inclusive and Safe Space My tables are actively welcoming. Queer, trans, neurodivergent, BIPOC, disabled individuals are always invited to the table. No room for hate or β€œjust kidding” bigotry. πŸŽ™ Distinct NPCs and Voices I bring characters to life with voice acting and improv, from creepy weirdos to heartfelt companions. 🌟 Everyone Gets a Moment No spotlight hogging. Every player gets time for cool moves, quiet scenes, and emotional payoff. πŸ‘‹ Beginner Friendly New to the game? I’ve got you. I’ll guide you through the rules, and we’ll learn as we go. πŸ˜‚ Fun Is the Point We’re here to enjoy ourselves. The vibe is creative, chill, and full of β€œwhat if we tried this…” energy. πŸ“š Always Leveling Up I keep up with rules, tools, and storytelling tricks so every session feels fresh and smooth. My greatest strength as a GM is to find things that matter to each player and their character and use those elements to have a direct and lasting impact on the story we tell together. You bring the character, I’ll bring the world. Let’s make something amazing together!
