About Moro

If you're reading this, I'll bet we've got one thing in common already: we want to be a part of a good story - the kind that sticks with us. Nice to finally meet you - I'm Moro, an indigenous storyteller. I'm inspired by stories from Legend of Zelda, Lord of the Rings, Studio Ghibli. These narratives often revolve around heroic struggles & triumphs, overcoming dread and collapse through radical hope, and sometimes just punching god. You can expect my storytelling and worldbuilding to be: 🤝 Collaborative ⚓ Immersive 🏳️‍🌈 Inclusive 🎭 Character-Driven

I got started GMing...

in D&D 4th Edition (wait wait!) when I was 12 years old. I started Game Designing and GMing for other systems when I first encountered Mouse Guard, Hyper Light Drifter, Troika!, and Mork Borg. I've since looked for more ways to include narrative game design and play.

My favorite shows/movies are

Anything by Studio Ghibli, Dark Crystal, Owl House, Watership Down, and Steven Universe.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Writing about Gothic Fantasy, Folk Horror, and drawing Monstrous Chimeras.

How Moro runs games

It is my intent to put player experience and fun first. I do that by: 👻 Crafting tough encounters and terrifying monstrosities that you can handle both mechanically and narratively. 🎭 Encouraging roleplay through my own silliness and cast of voices. 🌏 Building realistic and immersive worlds that move around and beyond the player characters.

Featured Prompts

My games focus on...

Telling stories that center marginalized folx, folklore, and everyday heroism.

Rules are...

Very similar to Thirsty Sword Lesbians: - Bigots and Bigotry are not allowed at the table - Consent is always important in collaborative storytelling - There is no Story with Stakes

Moro's ideal table

You'll fit right into a table if: - You're a beginner or intermediate or a game designer - You're a fan of combat that has options other than just beating up your enemies - You're wanting to get better at roleplay or are a star in the spotlight
