About Mike

A lifelong devotee of Dungeons & Dragons since the early days of 1980, I’ve worn every hat the game offers—player, storyteller, worldbuilder, and Dungeon Master. My tables are built on a foundation of rules, but they’re elevated by the rule of cool: if it’s cinematic, clever, or just plain awesome, it deserves a place in the story.

How Mike runs games

Whether guiding heroes through mythic quests or rolling dice as a player myself, I believe D&D is at its best when it’s dramatic, collaborative, and just a little bit unpredictable. After all, the game isn’t just about stats—it’s about stories that linger long after the final roll.

My games focus equally on combat, story and roleplay.

Rules are...

Rules are guidelines and should be treated as such. I tend to form a general consensus on the table, after all if you are too rigid no one will have the fun that they could potentially have. It must be fun for all GM included.

Mike's ideal table

At my table, fun is the guiding star. I foster a collaborative, story-first environment where the rules serve the narrative—not the other way. Players are encouraged to embrace creativity, lean into dramatic moments, and trust that rulings will favor flow and fun over strict mechanics. Unless the campaign is explicitly built around morally gray or villainous characters, I expect players to bring a heroic spirit to the table. These are the protagonists of the tale—champions, rebels, or reluctant saviors—driven by purpose, heart, and a desire to make a difference in the world. I want players who are excited to be the heroes of the story, not just adventurers chasing loot. In short: my ideal players are imaginative, flexible, and invested in shared storytelling. They come ready to lift each other up, embrace mythic moments, and co-create something unforgettable.
