About Wyatt

Storytelling and gaming have been passions of mine for as long as I can remember. All my life I've consumed every piece of entertainment I could get my hands on and ttrpgs have been no different. With almost a decade of experience in D&D (mostly Dming) and an ever-growing knowledge of other ttrps the inspiration for new stories never ends. Whether its one-shots or years long campaigns my primary goal is to create moments we'll all remember long after those sessions end. So come along and let's dream of the impossible.

I became a GM because

as a child i was an avid fantasy reader and gamer. Storytelling has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember and I want to share and explore the vast multiverse of imagination with everyone I can.

I got started GMing...

shortly into college. I played my first D&D campaign joining in late as a very early version of the pugilist homebrew class. The ttrpg obsession has only grown since then.

When I'm not running games I'm...

usually playing them. Whether its ttrpgs, card or Video games you can usually find me playing one of them. Though I do my best to read and watch plenty of media as well.

How Wyatt runs games

LGBTQIA2S+ AND BIPOC FRIENDLY. (NO BIGOTS) I DONT KNOW EVERYTHING BUT IM TRYING. RULE OF COOL AND RULES AS WRITTEN ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO INTERPRETATION NEITHER ARE INHERENTLY BETTER THEN THE OTHER. The only rule I will never change my mind on is to have fun first. We're here to play after all. Roleplay is a cornerstone of the ttrpg space but not everyone is a gifted actor including myself. However I will always encourage players to do their best and actively participate whenever possible. When it comes to combat though I may not always plan for it I highly encourage tactical/out of the box thinking. A battle of wits can be just as engaging as a duel to the death. Even after all these years I'm still discovering the way I run things and I'm often open to exploring new ideas never feel like your voice isn't worth using. Finally Collaborative storytelling is the name of the game. I want to be just as much of a fan to your characters as you are! Together we build wonders.

My games focus on...

the players first and foremost. I want you to feel like a part of this world we build together. A sandbox is a blast but I've always enjoyed when everyone brings their own toys to share.

Rules are...

ment to be tested and flexed. If they can be reshaped for a better experience for everyone then they should be.

Wyatt's ideal table

Friendly and patient. Eager to explore a story we develop together. Active listening and roleplay is highly encouraged and rewarded. We're all here to play after all. Combat will be moderately consistent but if the party just wants to sit around the bonfire and take charge of the session i certainly wouldn't mind just watching and waiting to drop my next pivotal plot line.

I am for a vibe that's...

Comfortable but devoted to the story. Im not looking to run beer and chip style casual games but it certainly won't be a professional performance either. Player to player call and response is a delightful part of this collaboration. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I think it's a red flag when players...

try to pull one over on their dm constantly. We're playing pretend and I want you to win. We arent opponents the stat blocks are. I just get to pick what I think would be coolest for you to behead or beguile along the way.

I think metagaming...

Has a time and place. Not everything needs to be played in character but more often then not it should be. A monster hunter knowing a creatures general weaknesses is common knowledge. But a modules big plot reveal should be walked into unless the party rolls just right when appropriate.
