About Bobby
Hi! I'm Bobby; actor, comedian, and long-time RPG lover. I've been playing games since I was 13. I have been a player and GM in many campaigns across many settings (even appeared on a few actual play podcasts). My favorite games include Lancer, Heart: the City Beneath, and Blades in the Dark. I'm always open to trying new things and explore new games systems, so if you're looking to try a game that's not listed on my profile, feel free to ask! I'll do my best to deliver an unforgettable experience.

Wacky Earnest Supportive
When I'm not running games I'm...
Performing in local theatre productions, preferably Shakespeare. If I'm not doing that, I'm playing video games or hanging with my roommates and our many animals.
How Bobby runs games
I will only play with queer/trans-friendly groups. My games can be a lot of things, but I can guarantee that they will always be weird and wacky. I place a heavy emphasis on creating fun and memorable characters for the PCs to bounce off of. I enjoy an RP-heavy game with larger-than-life characters. Combat and dungeon crawling can be fun as long as there's strong character work to back it up, but it will rarely be the focus of an entire session unless the story calls for it. When playing games like Lancer and D&D, I like to use battle maps for combat and dungeon delving; otherwise I prefer theatre of the mind. Tonally, I like to blend comedy and horror elements with humanistic storytelling and emotional honesty. I believe that respect, curiosity, and a willingness to put yourself out there are essential to having a good time in a session.

I deal with rules issues by...
Opening up a dialogue with the whole table to come up with a solution that feels fair to everyone.
My games focus on...
Freaks and outcasts from society coming together to survive in a crazy world.
When it comes to voices
I go all out, and I encourage you to do the same. And there WILL be an obnoxiously loud cackling witch at some point.
Bobby's ideal table
At my table, character and story rule over all. Curious players who don't take themselves too seriously will fit right in. An ideal table for me starts off light with a good sense of fun, but isn't afraid to get real and dramatic if the moment is earned. Don't worry about getting lost in the weeds about the rules; they're important, but they're there to help us tell a good story.

I am for a vibe that's...
Fun, but not flippant.
I love it when a player
Works campaign-relevant world building into their own backstory. It helps me out a TON.
I think min/maxing...
Misses the point of what RPGs are really for. If you do it, you're cheating yourself and everyone else out of a good time.
