About Bob

Dungeons and Dragons is a favorite game of mine and I have been a GM for the last few years which has been instrumental in building my love for this game. I enjoy helping new players learn the ins and outs, but I also like to GM for experienced players as well. I feel the online community is one of the most welcoming and encouraging group of players around. I also enjoy in person games. Currently, I GM 2 long term in-person campaigns and various in-person one shots. I want to branch out into online gaming to learn more about my craft and reach a broader audience. All of my games are LGBTQ+ friendly, and I welcome all people that want to join my adventures. PS yes, I'm that old...

How Bob runs games

I greatly appreciate the role-playing aspect of Dungeons & Dragons, as it stimulates the imagination of the participants. By role-playing, I do not imply that one must be a voice actor; rather, it involves embodying one's character as they would exist in reality. For instance, if you are portraying a druid, you should not permit the barbarian to set the forest ablaze as a distraction, as no druid would condone such behavior under any circumstances. Fostering creativity is one of the most crucial responsibilities I have as a Game Master. It is also essential to ensure the game remains enjoyable and to craft an engaging narrative. Adherence to rules is of secondary importance. If you are a player who strictly follows the rules, you can still enjoy my sessions, though you may need some patience to cope with the relaxed rule enforcement. Gameplay Details: We will be using the Lines and Veils tool, which is designed to set boundaries for the game. Lines are elements that players do not want to occur at all in the game, serving as a hard stop. Veils are elements that players do not want described in detail, and if they occur in the game, it will simply 'fade to black' and then continue. We will also have an Open Door which allows any player to take a break from the game if they feel the need, without any questions asked. Stars and Wishes is a session-end activity where players can express what they liked and what they want to change. CODE OF CONDUCT: - NO Bullying, hazing, or picking on a fellow character. You are a team and must treat each other with respect. - NO Sexual content (sweet talking may be used as persuasion but ONLY with NPCs). Keep it PG-13 in this area. - NO Shutting down other players' ideas or actions. Each player has the opportunity to voice their thoughts or intentions. If you say, "I will try..." I will determine if the game allows that action, and we will play out the outcome. If you ask the party for their opinion, that action can be decided upon by the group (in or out of character). There are no wrong answers or suggestions. This rule is overridden if someone feels uncomfortable with another's actions. - ALL interactions at the table will be "in character" unless a player says, "DM?" or "Above the table" or other way of communicating that they are not in character at that moment. This will be to clarify something or ask permission to leave the table. Do not say: "I'm going to ask the bartender if they have wine"...just ask as your character would. Regarding my refund policy, it is straightforward. If you need to skip a session, please provide at least a three-hour notice to avoid being charged. If the notice is given later than this window, you may, unfortunately, incur a charge.
