About Blake M. Howard
From the moment I started role-playing, I knew that playing as the Game Master was the place for me. Year after year, I would craft immersive and imaginative stories for my friends, some of which continue to this day! (We just wrapped up our 10th annual holiday game, this past New Year's.) It is from my love of storytelling that I was eventually able to make a career as a comic book writer. My credits include clients such as DC, Dark Horse, Archie, Skybound, and Vault comics, for whom I was one of three collaborators on the official *Vampire: the Masquerade* comic series! I bring with me a love of performance and storytelling, a talent for improvisation, and a penchant for devoting WAY too much time thinking about make-believe! If you want a game to become your new obsession, I'm your guy!

How Blake M. Howard runs games
I am a storyteller that strives for immersion and character investment. It is not enough to know that one is within a chamber in a dungeon... Do the lanterns flicker causing your shadows to dance and lunge like spectres in the dark? Does the faint sound of dripping, and the fragrant scent of petrichor tell you that the well you seek is nearby? Do you grip your weapon with firm resolve, buckskin gauntlets creaking with anticipation as you prepare for battle? I do not look at games as challenges for players to overcome, or narratives that my players are lucky to be a part of, but as a living, breathing story that we can collaborate upon to create, together.

My games focus on...
Immersion and interpersonal relationships. Heroic moments and catharsis.
Rules are...
a framework to help build, not a prison one is confined within.
When it comes to voices
I encourage players to use their own "character voices", cause I certainly will be using a wide array!

I am for a vibe that's...
chill, welcoming, and fearless!
I love it when a player
is eager to talk about their character's strengths AND their weaknesses.
My perfect party mix is
filled with various different sorts of players! Age, race, gender identity, or sexuality -- I think players of diverse perspectives make for incredible player characters.
