About Avner
Well met Adventurers! I am Avner, and I am excited to either introduce you to the world of tabletop role-playing or help you continue on your epic journey! I began DMing 10 years ago when I got tired of waiting for someone to run a D&D game and decided to learn how to run a game myself. I have been immersed in the hobby ever since. I have done my best to soak up any system I can get my hands on and do everything I can to spread the hobby that previously was much harder to get into. I started my dice rolling journey playing the Warhammer Quest and Hero Quest RPGs and now have since come to love the new 5e D&D system, Star Wars RPG, Pathfinder, Genesys, Cypher, World of Darkness and many more. What I find all these games have in common is it allows the players to tell a shared story with highs and lows that create memories that last years. I have also played in many different formats as well from throwing dice around a table or across a camera to using Roll 20, Fantasy Grounds and many more VVT options. I have even done my fair share of teaching people to play via play-by-post format. If there is a way to play I most likely have tried it. My passion for bringing the joy of the hobby to new players is unmatched, and I hope you give me the chance to bring that joy to you.

I became a GM because
I became a GM because I couldn't find one near me to run a game. I then realized I wanted to share my love for the game with as many people as possible and share in the collaborative storytelling element that brings people of all different backgrounds together in a way that no other medium does.
My favorite books are
A mix of classic rebellion and epic fantasy—my favorite books include The Outsiders, Wheel of Time, Sword of Truth, The Riftwar Saga, Ender’s Game, 1984, and Animal Farm. I love stories about courage, resistance, found family, and the fight for truth.
How Avner runs games
Epic moments are the lifeblood of my games and they thrive around collective character driven story telling. The rules create a structure to the game, but the major focus on my games will be assisting the players in engaging in a narrative that isn't just worth telling, but is full of memorable moments you can't help but share with friends. I love showing both new and veteran players the endless possibilities of tabletop games and how they can lift us up and also make us feel passionately about all the characters involved. As a Master Subscriber at D&D Beyond I can share access to much of my content with you when you join one of my campaigns. Many campaigns that I have run occur in different genres from fantasy to horror to pace operas and each gets my full attention as I strive to help facilitate the best experience possible at my table. I run both standard adventure and homebrew and love to create character connections within a story and make each one of the players decisions matter. I kneel at the altar of the Rule of Cool and despite trying to hold to a structure that gives us a good foundation for the game I am known to make a flexible ruling for the sake of amazing storytelling. My goal as DM is to introduce you to an amazing experience at the table where you will have fun, feel something, and walk away with a story you can't wait to tell someone. Welcome to my table, let's do something epic!
Avner 's ideal table
At my table, story comes first — always. Whether you're a seasoned player with dozens of sessions under your belt or brand new to the world of tabletop RPGs, you'll find a space here that’s welcoming, cinematic, and deeply character-driven. I run games where emotions hit hard, choices have real weight, and the best plans usually go sideways in the most dramatic way possible — and we love it. New players are especially welcome. You don’t need to know all the rules or speak in character voices (though you absolutely can if you want to). What matters most is that you’re here to explore, to play boldly, and to care about the story we’re building together. I’ll guide you every step of the way, offering support, structure, and just enough chaos to keep things fun. The tone at my table leans toward the serious and cinematic, but there’s always room for humor, surprise, and those wild moments that become inside jokes forever. We use safety tools like Lines and Veils and the X/N/O system to make sure everyone feels comfortable and supported throughout. Everyone gets a turn in the spotlight, and I work hard to help every character — and player — feel important to the story. Whether we’re diving into dark fantasy, navigating political conspiracies, hunting monsters, or piloting giant mechs in a broken world, the vibe is always the same: honest emotions, messy decisions, and unforgettable moments. If you’re looking for a table that balances drama with laughter, structure with freedom, and storytelling with style — this is it. Big feels. Bad plans. Great stories. Let the chaos begin.
