About Atlan
I enjoy hosting and narrating games. Love worldbuilding and allowing others to enter a world I made and forge their story in it... I invite both chaos and order in there, as long as everyone is having fun and getting something valuable from the whole experience. I believe in player agency and the idea that derailing stories is not an issue, but a challenge. The world should be open for players to explore and I like hosting systems that facilitate that.

I got started GMing...
because I have many stories I want to tell, but I don't want to tell them by myself. I think creating tales is a group activity and people should do it in groups. Making a story with players allows for it to go in ways it would never go otherwise. Derailing stories, is a happy accident, not an error
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
The Walking Dead Roleplaying Game, Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition and Ironsworn
My favorite books are
books by Lovecraft, Hunger Games trilogy and philosophy books. I also love books about people's struggle stories, postapocaliptic books, dystopian ones and books with twisted main characters struggling to do good.
How Atlan runs games
What I focus most in being a GM is the setting and the story and my main rule is that derailing doesn't exist in my campaigns... A story about a fall, is equally fun as a story about a hero I'd say. Impactful stories always mean something to me and that is why I will put priority on roleplay and gameplay will only be used as a tool in creating our tale... If you like a game which is founded HEAVILY on roleplay and with a full world ready wherever you want to go then I hope to deliver at least a portion of that with humility...

My favorite trope is...
a world where there is no "good guy". As in everyone can make a case for themselves, but anyone looking from the outside would agree, that no single group, or person is "the good guy" in all things.
My games focus on...
roleplay, player agency and the setting. I often let people do what they wish, because that also allows me as the GM to have fun, rather than taking the role of a human robot narrator.
Rules are...
there to make the game structured enough for players to know what to do, not to prevent people from doing something they want to do. If anything the rules would allow to do it, if only a certain way. It may be hard to do, but let me know what you wish for and we can work our way to it!
Atlan's ideal table
Probably a giant open world game of many different interwoven campaigns, where players derailed from the main story, doing their own thing, which by itself, naturally comes back to the main track from a different angle.

I am for a vibe that's...
a little more serious, or dark, but in a safe way for everyone. Let us talk about and do things we do not always get to do and experience in the real world, but in a safe way.
I love it when a player
gets hard into character, makes a deep story for them and has an entire rich background for it.
My table is not the place for...
breaking people's lines. If you want to challenge your own self, that's fine, but this is meant to be fun for everyone and everyone has their own topics they wish to avoid. Nobody at my table should be seen as above the others no matter what.
