About AndeGM

Hey everyone! I just love RPGs and want to do something I enjoy, so I'm hoping this will all work out and people will want to spend their time with me. I have experience being a GM for my friends and recently, Pathfinder Society. I'm also very dependable when it comes to game time. When I announce a game, bar any life emergencies, I WILL be there for our game. :)

I became a GM because

In my friend group, there was only one GM at the time. So, I started practicing and using my knowledge to run games, which then expanded into professional games. Now, I'm able to make money doing something that I love and help others learn. In both game systems and the benefits of roleplaying.

My favorite books are

My favorite books are surprisingly limited. I'm not much of a reader, so most of the books I've read have either had to help me with running games. An example would be books by James D'Amato. However, other books I enjoy are mostly philosophical such as Tao Te Ching, Art of War, etc.

My favorite system of all Time is

My favorite system, so far, is the Pathfinder systems. I started with D&D 3.5e and then switched to Pathfinder First, which I feel was a new and improved version. Ever since, I've been playing Pathfinder as well as trying out new systems. Pathfinder, however, has always stood out for me.

How AndeGM runs games

I'm very patient when it comes to teaching others, as well as answering questions both in and out of game. It's what got me personally invited from a Gen Con Paizo HQ member to go to Gen Con when I first started. I attempt to do my best when it comes to planning for and working to improve any game I GM (except voice acting, I've tried to improve and yielded no results). When it comes to prewritten Scenarios/Adventures/Adventure Paths, I try to run them as close to written as possible. I do this because I feel it takes away from the author otherwise and I couldn't do them justice. When I get practice running through them, this may change. When it comes to homebrew games, I attempt to incorporate the three main aspects of any campaign: roleplay, combat, and exploration. Almost anything goes! For example, the one I'm currently running for my friends is where they find themselves Isekai'd into the Pathfinder 2e setting. I can't say much about the story; however, they've been having fun with it and seen some twists and turns.

I once ran a session...

I once ran a session with about 8 people in it. It was for a former homebrew campaign of mine using the One Piece anime setting. I'm still working on one however, though it'll use the Pathfinder 2e system rather than the fan made One Piece d20 system.

I prep by

I prep by over prepping; I can be a slight perfectionist when it comes to getting sessions ready. A majority of it happens before the campaign even starts, though some things are missed as I'm only human. That allows me to prep even better overall.

When it comes to voices

I'm not very good at them, not out of lack of trying or laziness. My autism affects my voice through difficulty of pitch regulation and inflections. I actively work on improving them though, session by session.

AndeGM's ideal table

Generally, I enjoy when my players are having fun. I'm accepting of new players as well and wish to foster a comfortable and enjoyable environment for everyone involved in my games.

I love it when a player

I love it when roleplaying happens, it allows me to feel more involved as well. I want everyone to have fun, and I feel that can be best achieved in a character that they enjoy.

I think metagaming...

I think it can break game immersion. I know it's difficult however, so I'm understanding if it does happen. I just remind players that their characters don't have that knowledge yet.

My perfect party mix is

Honestly, the perfect party mix is just a bunch of players having fun. As long as everyone enjoys each other's company and the game they're playing, that's perfect enough for me.
