About the adventure
Phandalin is a quiet town, the kind that keeps its head down and gets by. But under the dirt and stone, something waits. The job seemed simple: deliver supplies, fend off a few bandits, meet a friend, and collect a reward. Then came the strange goblins. Then the cultists. Then the whispers of something deeper — an old mine, a lost fortune, and those willing to kill for both. In the dark beneath the hills, something moves. It is ancient. It is patient. And now, it is awake. The town begins to change. First in small, but unnerving, ways — a man forgets his own name, a woman sees things that aren't there. Then, the real horrors come. And in the end, it will fall to a few souls armed with steel and spell to face the madness before it swallows us all. ————————————————————— In this campaign I'll be running Phandelver & Below: The Shattered Obelisk, the latest official D&D adventure that takes place in the setting of Phandalin on the Sword Coast. The overall flavor of this campaign will be classic D&D fantasy adventure that becomes increasingly flavored with eldritch horror as the game progresses. Those who have played in a Phandalin campaign before will find a familiar place and a few familiar faces, but with new strange happenings and twisted forces to confront — while those new to Phandalin will get to experience a classic D&D setting in the iconic Sword Coast.

About me
Hello adventurers! My name is Squint and I've been playing D&D for four years, two of them as an in-person DM. I decided to take my DMing online because I had a great DM in my first online campaign as a player which really helped me develop a love for D&D — and I want to be able to do that for someone else! I especially enjoy emphasizing the social aspect of D&D. I believe the game is at its best when players engage with each other in character by sharing ideas, making plans, and collaborating to build a vibrant and exciting world together. I encourage players to engage in small talk and work together in character to make meaningful decisions that shape the world they inhabit. For me, the most rewarding moments in D&D come from the connections forged by creating a story that is unique to the people on the board.

What SqntEastwood brings to the table
I offer a virtual tabletop experience that includes elements such as music, NPC voice acting, and premium maps and assets from creators I subscribe to or created myself. In terms of DM style, I stick to the philosophy of "Rule of Cool, as long as it doesn't break the game." That means that if a player wants to do something that isn't quite "Rules as Written" I'll work with them to make it happen, unless there's just no way to do it without breaking the game (in which case, we'll work collaboratively to see what we can make happen!)
Homebrew rules
- Crits are full base damage + rolled crit damage - Drinking a potion is a bonus action - Switching between weapons does not cost any type of action - To perform the Help Action during roleplay and exploration, a character must have half proficiency, proficiency, or expertise in the skill that they are helping with
