About Dave (Actual Play Entertainment)

I've been running games for over 20 years and I still love it. My improv background means I react to what you do, not what I planned. Your decisions drive the story, your backstory shows up in the game, and your character gets to matter. I host an actual play podcast with over 50,000 streams and placed Top 5 in a competitive DM Challenge against some of the best GMs in the industry. I bring that same level of craft to every session I run. At my table you'll get NPCs you'll actually remember, atmosphere you can feel, and moments you'll talk about after the session ends. I run tight. No exposition dumps, no railroading, no wasted time. Just a story that moves and stakes that are real. I use Foundry VTT with animated maps, handouts, and music built for the moment. Whether you've never played before or you've been at tables for years, you'll find a seat here. When I run D&D it's for adults. Dark, unforgiving, consequences are real. Heroes are made, not assumed.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be

Delta Green (my favorite game) Call of Cthulhu (just so much content) Mork Borg (dark, gritty fantasy? Yes please!)

How Dave (Actual Play Entertainment) runs games

I blend narrative storytelling with tactical combat and improvisation. My NPCs have distinct voices and personalities, and they react to what you do. Combat is hard-hitting and meaningful. Roleplay takes centre stage, and the emotional moments are earned, not forced. I stay sharp no matter what you throw at me. Every twist and cliffhanger feels natural because I'm reacting to you, not a script. My table is a place where you can laugh, take risks, and tell a story worth remembering.

Dave (Actual Play Entertainment)'s ideal table

My table runs on mutual respect. Everyone gets a moment to shine, and I make sure of it. No talking over each other, no telling other players what to do with their characters, no exceptions. If you're disrespectful to anyone at the table, you're gone. No warnings, no second chances. Beyond that, all are welcome. New to TTRPGs? Great, I'll teach you. Not a heavy roleplayer? No problem, just show up and engage. The players who thrive here lean into the tension, laugh when it breaks, and treat everyone at the table well. No experience required. Just don't be an jerk.
