About me

Gaming since 1979 and GMing TTRPG's since 1982 with Rolemaster and MERP (Middle Earth Role Playing). Started to experiment with email based games in 1998 with encouragement from a college gaming friend from the late 1980's in my Channel Cities setting that has grown to take on a life of its own over the last 35+ years. Have also dabbled with just about all versions of the d20 systems but always felt they lacked the depth, detail and flexibility of Rolemaster and some other systems. Willing to GM games using Rolemaster (RM2/RMC, RMSS/RMFRP, Spacemaster, and RMU), MERP (Middle Earth RolePlaying), HARP (High Adventure Role Playing), HARP-SciFi, FUDGE/FATE, Eclipse Phase, The Everlasting, Shadows of Humanity (home-brew system using Tarot cards), Traveller, Shadows of Esteren or Fe & Ma ("Iron & Mana", home-brew system). If players wish to play D&D or Pathfinder, I highly recommend contacting DM Bob Yo, who is a friend who I have gamed with many times in-person over the years and who has a similar outlook to the hobby as I do, but prefers the d20 based systems that are more popular, while I tend to prefer to GM some of the less commonly played or more niche based RPG systems listed above.

GM Style

I am a firm believer that the GM's job is to provide a detailed sand-box type of setting, in which the players can explore and enjoy an interactive storytelling experience based on the choices that their characters choose. With 4 decades of experience, and an open-minded viewpoint, it is important to let the choices of the player's characters guide the story, in whatever direction that may take them. After all, it is the interactive storytelling that has always drawn me towards running games versus playing games. Be it combat heavy tactical situations, or deep thought puzzles and mystery, or in depth role-playing with no combat at all. I have run hundreds of TTRPG sessions over the last 40 years, that range across the entire spectrum of themes and styles.
