About the adventure

Halcyon City. A haven for many, a beautiful, shining city protected by superheroes who spend their days making sure every citizen gets to live their best life. Also, a city regularly besieged by supervillains because it turns out you can't have one without the other. Monster attacks and huge brawls where cars get thrown in the air in what certainly insurances won't cover happen on a daily basis. And there, in that city, you and your friends thrive. Three teenagers, at South Central High, living completely normal, not at all super-heroic lives. Except for when you don the masks, that is. Secretly (shocking, I know!) you all have superpowers, and have decided to start a group to help keep the city safe. Not so secretly, the local Villain guild hasn't liked it. So now your lived consist of battling monsters, sending villains to jail, and learning how to properly solve derivatives. All of them before bedtime. Lately, things have been getting a bit out of hand. The usual monsters are more monstrous, the usual attacks are deadlier, and the usual supervillains seem to be angrier - and the city needs saving. Can we count on you to help?

About me

Experienced fantasy/comedy writer and GM helping others get into tabletop. My experience as a writer, along with studies on plot and character development and stage experience as an actor and singer, are all put here in service of telling you a story that's memorable and creating a world where you'll be the protagonist. All of my experience and knowledge is at your disposal, and new players will receive guidance not only on how to create characters, but how to better develop them into full, believable people I specialize in bringing out the funny, the quirky, and the odd in campaigns. Reacting to players' actions isn't only a part of the job for me, but my favorite part of it - creating situations and shaping the storyline between the players and the GM is the heart of tabletop roleplaying. If you're laughing or surprised, I've done my work. If you can come out of my table having learned the rules of the game and becoming a fine roleplayer, I've done my work. All my games are LGBTQ+ friendly, and my tables are safe spaces where people from all walks of life are welcome.

The game was fun and role playing heavy. Tizzy was welcoming and explained all the mechanics without slowing the story down. Tizzy incorporated our crazy ideas and made it a light hearted time.

Tizzy did a wonderful job introducing new players to Call of Cthulu. Had a great atmosphere, with visuals, handouts, and awesome background music. Tizzy provided all of us with pregens and we were quickly able to jump into the story. They do an awesome job with improvising characters, scenes and interesting stuff to do. If you're looking for a Call of Cthulu game or DnD game, I would really recommend Tizzy for the inclusive experience, lovely atmosphere, and fun times of their games!

I started playing DnD with Tizzy back in October 2022 and it is now January 2024. What all can I say? Tizzy was the first person to reach out to me when I was looking for a group to join. I had no experience or idea what I was doing; or even what to expect. After a year and a half now I have become alot more comfortable with not only DnD itself, but role playing and myself. Tizzy here is an amazing DM. Not only does he have alot of knowledge of DnD and everything it encompasses (rules, spells, mechanics, classes, items, ect), his tables are an area where everyone is heard. That's alot of words to say, that I enjoy the group that I'm in and that's why I continue to return. Happy gaming everyone!

I've been playing in one of Tizzy's campaigns for half a year now, and I would absolutely recommend him. He encourages you to bring out the roleplay and develop your characters, and he will provide opportunities specifically for this. Combat is balanced and challenging, too, so there's something for all. He will work your character quirks into the game if they're fun. Running jokes and puns are encouraged. Games have a good balance of seriousness and silliness and are always fun. The VTT he uses (FG) has a learning curve, but he's patient and accommodating to players new to it and/or to the game itself. Audio and visuals are plentiful. Feedback is encouraged and actively solicited each session. Table safety is paramount. Tables are LGBTQ- and neurospicy-inclusive. Toxic players and behavior are addressed and even booted if needed. He's not perfect - no one is - but if one of his games piques your interest, he's worth taking a flier on.

Character creation
Creating your character

Character creation will take place during session zero, after a short discussion about the campaign itself and the limitations on characters, along with the ideal type of character for the campaign.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

Discord and access to voice chat is required, as that's how the game will be ran. Access to Alchemy for character sheets and rolls is also necessary, although I could always manage your character sheet and you could make rolls on discord using avrae. What Tizzy brings to the table

I'm bringing the source books, knowledge about the game and system, digital handouts, and a well-researched, streamlined campaign.

Safety
How Tizzy creates a safe table

Masks is a high-action game played in theater-of-the-mind, so most of the sessions will consist of the GM and the players chatting and navigating through situations both scripted and resulting from player action. While it's action-heavy, that doesn't mean the game will shy away from pure role-playing encounters, so players coming in should expect a healthy amount of both - investigation to know who to beat up and action to go and beat them up. While as a GM I tend to veer towards the funny side of situations, but storylines can get dark. We will have conversations about lines, veils, and triggers during session zero and at the beginning/end of each session, but it's always good to be aware that in games horrific things do happen sometimes. To help players deal with potential stress resulting from in-game situations, sessions can be stopped at any moment if a player feels triggered, even if the situation creating it wasn't one discussed before and thus not one of the previously agreed-on lines or veils. It is my duty to offer you the safest experience I can, and I'll hold myself to it. All of my campaigns are illustrated - besides having maps when necessary, players are shown reference images of the places they're visiting and people they're meeting as a means to help them get into their characters and the worlds they inhabit.
