About the adventure

I'm running RotF for more experienced players! This will be an in depth, ongoing campaign! This will be the classic module with some of my own monsters, NPCs, and twists, so even seasoned players should get something new from this adventure! This adventure goes from 1st to 10th level traditionally, but be prepared for more serious encounters, pressing danger, and a good taste of horror! Icewind Dale has become trapped in a perpetual winter. Ferocious blizzards make the mountain pass through the Spine of the World exceedingly treacherous, and this land has not felt the warmth of the sun in over two years. In fact, the sun no longer appears above the mountains, not even in what should be the height of summer. In this frozen tundra, darkness and bitter cold reign as king and queen. Most residents blame Auril the Frostmaiden, the god of winter’s wrath. The shimmering aurora that weaves across the sky each night is said to be her doing—a potent spell that keeps the sun at bay. Strange things are said to haunt the dark, stalking the citizenry. With so much shadow for monsters to hide in, the Ten-Towns are growing ever more dangerous. Explore if you dare, but tread carefully; the number of those who have stories from their journey, either through the frigid streets of Ten-Towns, or into the unforgiving wild is always less than those who never returned at all.

How to prepare

You will need: Discord & Mic (for voice, video not required) Roll20 (for maps) DDB (for pc creation, dice rolls and digital integration) Beyond 20 extension for your browser (VTT integration) I will help you configure everything and help you make a token for your player beforehand! Otherwise just bring yourself!

What I provide

DDB, with lots of the source books. There will also be custom maps through R20, and a custom digital token made by me for your PC!

Gameplay details

This game is planned module set in DnD. Of course all the classic themes will be there, challenging encounters, and an engaging, fun, but immersive story that will grab players and not let go. This game will feature adult themes [violence, gore, horror elements, adult language, etc] and as such, is for players 18+ only. We will discuss during session 0 exactly what will be spoken about and played through, and any line or veils will be established at that time.

How will character creation work

You will need DDB to create your character. During session 0 we will create and discuss them, then add them to the digital campaign! That's about it for logistics. These will be level 1 characters, so keep that in mind. During the session 0 we can discuss how players will fit into the setting, and anything else before we jump into the world at session 1. Races: Any race/variant without flight may be chosen. Professions: Any except Artificer. The following backgrounds will be the choices for this campaign. Acolyte Charlatan Criminal Entertainer Folk Hero Guild Artisan Haunted One Hermit Mercenary Vet Noble Outlander Sage Sailor Solider Urchin Ability Rolls: Use the DDB Manual Roll System. Three groupings of dice rolls total, rolling a 4d4 for each of the slots. Pick your favorite grouping, no taking rolls from different groups! Starting items: 25gp, one uncommon item,(magical, not wondrous), cold weather clothing. Max HP, Milestone XP Settings.
