About the adventure

"An evil hungers beneath the earth. This ancient enemy seeks to undo a God's work from millennia ago and bring desolation to the Isle of Kortos. The heroes destined to confront this enemy have humble beginnings, working as members of a novice circus troupe. These humble heroes are fated for much more than the circus, however, and with skill and luck might save the entire region from the extinction curse!" Are you ready to embark on a world-changing path that will forge a legendary hero of your imagination? Hold your breath, because we are playing Extinction Curse, a full adventure path that takes the players all the way from level 1 to level 20. You start as members of a traveling circus and in addition of adventuring, you will also be managing it and play a game subsystem of Circus Performances (expanded with homebrew rules) once in a while to support your characters and the community you see as your chosen family. The tale takes you from a backcountry town, throughout the Starstone Isles home to "world capital" Absalom and also explore an ancient underground vault in the Darklands. Will you rise up to the challenge, fight-off demonic invaders and replicate a God's work or make better where he has failed? This is NOT an instant booking game and the reason for that is that it is an Adventure Path that we will play potentially for years. I would like to make sure that the players are a fit for this game but also for each other. I hope you can trust me with making the right decision. I also ask of you before applying to please read below and only apply if you think you are a fit: - You've checked my GM Profile and learned a bit about me and my GMing style. - You are willing to own an entire character to role-play as and think about their background, their choices and their emotions. - You are willing to read, watch, research the rules of the game and how your character and their abilities work. This is a learn-to-play adventure but you need to be informed of the theory before going into applied learning. - You are respecting other players and the game master and maintaining gaming and social etiquette. (Not interrupting, giving space and time for everyone to learn.) - You don't perform homophobia, transphobia, racism, xenophobia or any other bigot-like behaviour that discriminates, mocks or demeans any identity. - You are mentally prepared to be in the game, to collaborate with others, winning or losing, having fun either way. Paying attention to what happens in the game. Being able to attend most (if not all) of the scheduled games. - You have access to a fast and reliable internet connection, a working mic, a non-noisy environment to play, a computer with enough power to run Foundry. - Being 21+ of age. Being comfortable with adult themes or description of violence. (Nothing extreme but see the content warnings) I hope you can trust me to take you to this wondrous journey. Looking forward to meeting you and your character !

Additional Details

How to prepare

A - You need a computer with following: 1 - working mic and sound device (preferably a headphone) connected to your computer. 2 - either Chrome or Firefox to run Foundry VTT application (you don't need to buy or download anything beforehand). 3 - An account at Forge-vtt.com so that I can invite you to Foundry VTT server. (it's really easy to create one. 4 - a fast and reliable internet connection 5 - a Discord account and a working Discord application (either desktop or web) B - Please make sure you are in a non-noisy environment and you won't be interrupted during the game session. (Excluding special needs and a 10-min break in the middle of the session) C - Create your character as per the character creation information and have an art ready and send me 24h before session 1. I will create a game token off the art and you don't need to do that. I prefer full body art rather than close-up portraits just because it's what I use for most of the characters in game but whatever pleases you is fine. You would make me really happy if you can find high resolution art that fit the general theme of Pathfinder 2E.

What I provide

I bring my online Foundry VTT server running on Forge, so you can access it anytime during or in between sessions. I will create your character tokens based off art you find for your character. Everything else (maps, monster tokens, audio, etc.) are already inside the game server ready for play. I will also send you PDF of the official Player's Guide for the adventure path and will also have a lot of resources in the Discord Server so you never feel lost. You will also get your character tokens as emojis on the server.

Gameplay details

Lines and Veils document will be sent as a link, detailing what I as a GM will consider and respect but also ask you to do the same. In session 0, I will talk about my GM'ing style, the specific features of this campaign and finally we will go over each of your characters and agree upon how they are connected to each other. I have included the X-card as a module into Foundry VTT and a player can click that icon when they are not comfortable about the current scene. My aftercare is, I ask each player after the session privately if they enjoyed the session; if there are any thing they would like to express about the session and whether they have any feedback. They can also let me know if they want their feedback to be discussed in the group and we can decide to do so in between sessions if necessary.

How will character creation work

Characters start at level 1 with default Pathfinder 2e creation rules + Free Archetype Rule. When creating characters you can use any content published by Paizo for Pathfinder 2e only. You can use uncommon/rare elements for the character creation but these will be limited (detailed after you join the game) and must be tied to your backstory. I expect you to create your characters before the session 0 so we can talk about them. They don't have to be fully fleshed out and I will answer any questions you might have. I also allow my players to respec/remake their characters after the first session. Having a proper backstory is a must since this is an adventure path and I try to tie every character's backstory into the main story. Your backstory does not need to be literary piece but need to contain essential details about your character, like where part of the world are they from, how did they choose their lifestyle, how did they get to learn their talents and abilities, how they came to be part of the circus, what are their main motivations, their friendly and hostile connections etc.
