Announcing Our $6.5M Series Seed Funding Round

We are thrilled to announce that StartPlaying has raised $6.5M in Seed funding, led by a16z, general partners Jonathan Lai and Andrew Chen.

This is a huge milestone for our rapidly growing company. With this investment, we will be expanding our marketing efforts and will double the size of our team by the end of the year.

At StartPlaying, we’ve created the world’s first platform for finding professional Game Masters for tabletop roleplaying games on any platform and any game system. We’ve made it easier than ever for Game Masters to get paid for their storytelling and craft.

Whether it’s helping Game Masters and players find each other or collaborating with industry partners, we’re proud to have the opportunity to bring people together through the power of games.

This announcement, coupled with StartPlaying’s exciting growth over the past two years. Here’s a look at our progress so far:

• Our Game Masters have made $2.5M+ running games on our platform. 
• We’ve hosted over 100,000 games.
• More than 1,000 Game Masters have joined our platform to become professional Game Masters.
