About the adventure
The Witchlight Carnival reappears in your world, bringing impossible delights and curious performers. For many, it's simply an unforgettable night of laughter and spectacle. For you and your companions, it's the beginning of a journey into the Feywild: a place of wonder and whimsy where every bargain has a price. Explore the realms of Hither, Thither, and Yon. Stay in an inn with legs, befriend owlbears, unicorns, and displacer beasts, and interact with fantastic creatures such as satyrs, faeries, and harengon, all as you try to outwit a coven of hags and recover what was stolen from you. This campaign includes: 🔮 Ample opportunities for diplomacy and clever thinking 🔮 Exploration of a vibrant, magical world 🔮 A balance of humor and mystery Everyone has a different comfort level with roleplay, and that’s okay! 🎭 Voices and accents are welcome but not required or expected. 🎭 You can describe what your character does in 1st person (I check the chest for traps) or 3rd person (Chetney checks the chest for traps) My favorite part of being a DM is weaving characters into the modules I run! We'll work together to create a backstory that seamlessly fits into the campaign.

About me
🏳️🌈 I always had trouble answering the question, "What is your passion?" That is, until I started playing D&D 5 years ago. It quickly became an obsession and once I switched from player to DM there was no going back to life without it. I’ve been DM-ing for 4 years now, both in person and online. All I want is more D&D in my life! It took me so long to try D&D because of my social anxiety and I don't want that to be the reason anyone else is hesitant to play. My table is welcoming, inclusive, and LGBTQ+ friendly. I want everyone to feel safe, respected, and excited to show up and play. Whether you’re newer to the game or very experienced, my goal is to create a space where we can tell a good story together. I want to use my GM earnings to buy and share more content on D&D Beyond so my players have access to more options and resources! I do this as a part-time job to cover student loans, but if there is a D&D Beyond resource you would like access to for one of my campaigns I will gladly add it to my library(within reason, of course).

Creating your character
☑️2024 rules ☑️Level 1 ☑️Point Buy or Standard Array ☑️No encumbrance ☑️Use prerequisites for feats and multiclass ☑️Milestone levels ☑️D&D Beyond Character Creator Character creation will be collaborative. Bring an idea or two to session 0 and we will make adjustments so that you fit both the party and the campaign. Sources allowed: 2024 Player's Handbook Tasha's Xanathar's Critical Role Crooked Moon (with limitations, message me to discuss) Arcana Unleashed Additional Species: Fairy (Small size like a gnome. Not tiny like pixies.) Harengon Satyr Tabaxi Firbolg The Hexblood lineage is also allowed. If I missed an option you think is pretty standard or that you think makes sense for the module, please let me know! I'm open to ideas, I just can't review every possible source. As stated in my safety rules, no characters that are explicitly evil or selfish.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
🔹 Headset/microphone 🔹 Computer. The VTT does not work on mobile devices. 🔹 Discord (free) 🔹 D&D Beyond account (free) 🔹 AboveVTT (free, no account needed, simply download the browser extension for Chrome or Firefox) Worried about learning a new tool? AboveVTT is incredibly easy to use. It's basically D&D Beyond Maps but with a few more features.
What Laura brings to the table
☑️ A safe space for all! This is a positive place that welcomes all ☑️ Access to all the content I own on D&D Beyond ☑️ Availability for questions between sessions ☑️ Poor attempts at NPC voices so you can laugh and feel comfortable trying your own ☑️ A middle ground between RAW and Rule of Cool ☑️ Ambient music to immerse you in the setting(don't worry, you can control the volume) ☑️ My face! I aim to be on camera as much as possible to create a better connection and feel more like an in-person game. Players are not required to be on camera unless they want to be. ☑️ Bonus: I used to work tech support, so not only do I have immense patience but I can usually help you figure out any technical issues
Homebrew rules
🔹Flanking bonus TBD by the group before starting (advantage or +2 to hit) 🔹Spell scrolls can be used by any class 🔹Potions as a bonus action is now RAW as of 2024!

How Laura creates a safe table
Again, this is a positive place that welcomes all and is an LGBTQ+ space. Lines and Veils: Lines are hard boundaries that exclude specified content from the game, no questions asked. Veils are softer limits where the player is ok with it being included in the game, but it is not explicitly described. Things that are specified as veils will be hand-waved without going into detail or happen off-screen, like the fade-to-black. Lines and veils can be adjusted throughout the game. ❌ The X Card: The X Card can be used at any point in the game to remove content that someone at the table finds uncomfortable, triggering, or deals with subject matter they don’t want to get into. Because we are online, the most effective way to use the X card is to say "X Card" out loud. You may also type it into chat or cross your arms(if on video). If an X card is played, I will clarify what content they are playing the X Card for, and the group will change, retcon, or delete the content as needed. The X Card player does not have to explain why they played it, and no one at the table can argue against the X Card being played. ⛔Zero tolerance policy for harassment of any kind. This includes breaking safety and consent lines. By joining you agree to the following: 🔹 I wont attack other players or steal from them (PVP) 🔹 I will not play a character who is explicitly evil or selfish 🔹 I will respect the narrative consent of others and be a team player 🔹 I promise not to engage in problematic play and I will come to the table with a great attitude
