About the adventure

For those expecting this to be a campaign of "Descent Into Avernus" tied into "Chains of Asmodeus," the similiarities are only skin deep. Sure, you'll start in Baldur's Gate and end up in the Nine Hells, but you'll have far more than the Blood Wars to worry about. The Devil has His eye on you from the very beginning.... This is NOT the Supreme Master of the Nine Hells you're all familiar with. This incarnation of Old Hoof and Horn is far more...multiversal...than you might be acquainted with. But make no mistake: He has a Plan, and you fit into it somehow. At some point during each of your lives he has tempted you...and you have denied him. Instead of cutting His losses, He doubled down...by somehow claiming the lives (and souls) of the one person each of you cherish most. Fate will give each of you an opportunity to reclaim the loved one you have lost should you continue your descent into His domain. There is salvation to be had, so long as you are able to avoid all obstacles in your path...up to and including the Lord of the Ninth himself, Asmodeus. Or is this all just part of His Plan? Fear the gathering storm, and fear the tall handsome man in the dusty black coat with a red right hand.... This is a campaign designed for 3-6 players and will take characters from 1st level all the way to 20th, as it combines the "Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus" module with the "Chains of Asmodeus" module.

About me

Everyone has a story in them. Let me help you find yours. It can be hard for those who want to play TTRPGs, but either can’t find a group or just don’t know how to get started. Let me make that easier for you by offering my services as a professional Game Master for whatever game system you’re interested in playing. Let’s build a story together, while leaving you the freedom to explore and enjoy the world you’re creating without being bogged down by rules and multiple plotlines to keep track of. I've been doing this for over 30 years and have garnered a reputation for being a little outside the box but--at the same time--being 100% inclusive. The goal is for everyone to have fun and for nobody to feel left out. Also, if you see me advertising a game with no players yet, and the scheduled day and time doesn't work, message me with a day and time that would work and I can possibly move it to that schedule. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will take place during Session 0, but you are welcome to get a head start if you like. My basic guidelines are as follows: 1. Stats are determined by rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest per stat. 2. Leveling up is milestone-based. 3. Encumbrance is enforced, but coin weight is ignored. 4. I allow all official content (including Unearthed Arcana), as well as most 3rd-party content with prior approval.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need access to a mic, as well as both Discord and D&D Beyond.

What Nemesis Noir brings to the table

Apart from using Discord, I also have access to several sourcebooks, as well as a D&D Beyond subscription. I'll be using the 2024 rules for this campaign, but I do have a few house rules of my own that I will discuss with you as a group.

Homebrew rules

I have options for homebrew rules; we'll talk about them during Session Zero to see if the group wants to use them or not.
