About the adventure
Welcome, weary travelers. Welcome to a tale of bloodlust and bluebeards. Of loves lost, and loves stolen. Of crumbling building were orphans beg for crumbs among the throngs of soulless passerbys. A tale of a nobility turned to savagery. Of selfless love growing into wretched, covetous obsession. And a tale, above all else, of eternal suffering. Count Strahd von Zarovich, lord and god of Barovia, hunts the streets at night, ever searching for lives to steal. Ever searching for his long-dead brides return. He is the first and most powerful of the vampires, and he has compelled you to enter his inescapable domain. Fight the monsters he commands. Meet the people he hunts. And end the curse his existence has set upon the world.

About me
Hey! My name is Michael, and I love creating worlds, building characters, and telling stories. I also like hosting games with a good balance of RP and combat. I love seeing what kind of shenanigans players can come up with and trying to create genuinely heartfelt moments in the games. If you're looking to push the boundaries of what you can accomplish as a player, I want to play with you.

Creating your character
Players will create their characters on DnD Beyond, using any of the character races and classes available in the sourcebooks. Stats will be chosen by dice rolls. DnD beyond has a fairly simple to use guide to show how to do this, but don't be afraid to reach out. Players may use homebrew upon approval.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need access to Discord and DnD Beyond to play this game, as well as the ability to join a voice chat.
What Michael brings to the table
I will be hosting the game using a combination of DND Beyond and Discord. I have access to most source books, and am willing to go find more if a player has a character idea. I do character voices to help me keep the various NPCs straight in my head. I think they're pretty good, but I'll let you be the judge. I have never hosted a session with ambient music before, and would like to experiment with it this campaign. If it isn't working we will adjust. In general, I tend to lean more "Rule of Cool." I strongly encourage players to attempt shenanigans. I tend to use the rules as a guideline to keep storytelling consistent and more unpredictable, as opposed to a rigid set of limitations on what characters can and cannot do.

How Michael creates a safe table
In Session 0, we will be sure to have a moment to go over any triggers or sources of discomfort players have so I can avoid them during gameplay. I will maintain an open door policy for any player who has concerns during games. I will also provide a post-session talk where players can bring up any concerns they have.
