About the adventure

This is Ghosts of Saltmarsh, reimagined for the Forgotten Realms and expanded with original homebrew content. Set along a rugged stretch of coast south of Baldur’s Gate, the campaign centers on a struggling fishing town caught between smugglers, secrets, and rising coastal threats. The campaign follows a modular, open-ended format where your choices drive the story forward. You may explore sunken ruins, confront hidden corruption, chase whispers of forgotten powers, or tip the balance in a town on the brink of change. Core Saltmarsh adventures are seamlessly integrated with new NPCs, locations, and plotlines rooted in custom lore. Expect a mix of seafaring danger, mystery, political intrigue, and meaningful consequences. Whether you prefer solving puzzles, fighting off raiders, or shaping the destiny of the region, you’ll have room to leave your mark. New and experienced players are welcome. Session 0 is free, and will set expectations, tone, and offer space to connect characters to the world.

About me

Hi! I am a musician, writer and arts fundraiser who has been playing Dungeons & Dragons on and off since I was a kid. In the last couple of years I started GM'ing online and have really enjoyed being able to meet people all over the world and setting the stage for them in my favorite game. I see TTRPG's (table top role-playing games) as an art form, and enjoy creating a positive environment for players to really express themselves in the ongoing collaborative narrative. It's a great feeling to be the catalyst for other peoples enjoyment of this great game and I liken it to performing live music. While I'm relatively new to this format, I am absolutely obsessed with bringing the best experience I can to any table I run. I welcome players of any background and experience level with a focus on storytelling, roleplaying, and immersion and most of all providing a little respite from the complexities of the world we are in. I look forward to exploring with you!

Character creation

Creating your character

Before Session 0: -I will send you a link to the Discord, after you sign up and if you have time, would love to meet up with you and see if it would be a good fit for both of us. This is where you tell me what youre looking for and I run through the kinid of campaigns I run an some table expectations. Think of it as a pre session 0. This is free. -After you sign up for the campaign, sign up for a d&dbeyond account here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/ -I will send you a link to the campaign then, and you will have access to the 2014 books you need to create a character. -Go to Collections>My Character and create a new character using 2014 5e ruleset options where available. -It's easier to do it from the campaign page, but if you want to attach it later I will send another link. -You will be starting at level one. -You will use the standard array option for rolling your stats. -If you have a specific book you want to use for options for your character, or even if there is something in the new ruleset you want to use, we can talk about. Once this is done, we will have a session 0, where everybody gets together and introduces themselves, a little about their characters and we talk about the game, table rules, safety tools etc. This is also free.

What GM Mike D brings to the table

I follow the rules as written but allow for situational flexibility when it supports strong roleplay or story moments. My sessions focus on realism, immersion, and fun, with a blend of tactical combat and narrative-driven decisions. I aim to create an inclusive table where all players feel welcome and engaged. Everyone and all skill levels are welcome.
