Dragon of the Storm Spire | Level 7 D&D 5e One-Shot
A pirate lord's business has been interrupted by the arrival of a dragon, and he's willing to pay a king's ransom to whoever can get rid of it.
About the adventure
Off the shores of Blood Palm Island, where the salt air mingles with the scent of rum, a dragon has claimed a stone spire as its lair. This flying menace has taken to sinking the ships of the island’s pirate lord, disrupting the treacherous yet vital trade that keeps the island alive. The pirate lord, a ruthless but now desperate man, has offered a king’s ransom to any adventurers who can rid him of this scaly scourge. The task is simple, but deadly: slay the dragon, and bring back proof of its demise. Will you emerge victorious, or will you become just another lost tale in the island's bloody history?

About me
Hello adventurers! My name is Squint and I've been playing D&D for four years, two of them as an in-person DM. I decided to take my DMing online because I had a great DM in my first online campaign as a player which really helped me develop a love for D&D — and I want to be able to do that for someone else! I especially enjoy emphasizing the social aspect of D&D. I believe the game is at its best when players engage with each other in character by sharing ideas, making plans, and collaborating to build a vibrant and exciting world together. I encourage players to engage in small talk and work together in character to make meaningful decisions that shape the world they inhabit. For me, the most rewarding moments in D&D come from the connections forged by creating a story that is unique to the people on the board.

Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Creativity
Visual Aid
Voices
I convinced my IRL party to try out an online one shot when our DM had to cancel on us last minute. Most of the party playing has never used Forge and Squint took the time to explain the tools we'd be using in the VTT, it made it very easy to play and made game play relatively seamless. The visual effects in Forge made the experience very cool and was something I'd never experienced before. We did a dungeon crawl that didn't allow for much RP (expected and requested by the players, this is not a negative), but Squint still went above in beyond with presentation and character building with the NPCs we were fighting. While fighting Squint allowed us to have creativity and the entire party had a great time. Would certainty play again.
Character creation
Creating your character
Players will create Level 7 characters on D&D Beyond, and receive the following in addition to their standard starting gear: - 1 Rare Magic Item & 1 Uncommon Magic Item (only one of these can be Wonderous)
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need the following: - D&D Beyond account for character creation - Discord account for voice chat - Microphone of some kind (built-in laptop mics work just fine) - Desktop computer or laptop (Foundry VTT unfortunately doesn't work with ~most~ tablets)
What SqntEastwood brings to the table
I offer a virtual tabletop experience that includes elements such as music, NPC voice acting, and premium maps and assets from creators I subscribe to or created myself. In terms of DM style, I stick to the philosophy of "Rule of Cool, as long as it doesn't break the game." That means that if a player wants to do something that isn't quite "Rules as Written" I'll work with them to make it happen, unless there's just no way to do it without breaking the game (in which case, we'll work collaboratively to see what we can make happen!)
