Daggerheart: Motherboard | Post-Apocalyptic Technomagic World
Technology from long-fallen civilizations. Walled cities in the Wastes. A malicious virus in machine beasts. Are you the hero to save the Motherboard?
About the adventure
An adventure epic set in a post-post-apocalyptic technological marvel. Artificial intelligence, autonomous beasts, and mysterious technology replace magic in this Daggerheart campaign. In the Echo Vale, people live among the remains of the civilizations centuries past their fall. Steel and concrete fall to grass and trees. Walls around new settlements keep danger out, and people in. Wandering cities move in the Wastes. Above it all, the Network, metal wires connecting the cities of the Echo Vale created in a complex language known to no one. Live among the Remnants, autonomous machines tamed or roaming wild, feeding off any energy they can get. A deadly virus spreads through the network now, turning them against unsuspecting people in walled and wandering cities alike. Will you find a way to fix the Remnant's Fury and save the Motherboard?

About me
I'm a storyteller and software engineer who loves fantasy stories of all kinds, especially queer ones. I write, do game development/design, and build cool things in my spare time. I love reading, watching, and playing (in video, board, or tabletop game form, I'm not picky) amazing stories of all kinds. I love my cat. I've been a DM/GM/Storyteller for about ten years, specializing in D&D5e/PF2e, PbtA systems, and FitD systems. I love trying out new systems and sharing them with folks new or experienced!

Storytelling
Magpie is incredibly player focused and interested in telling the story that the players want to tell. Magpie was great about ensuring that player goals for the campaign were in alignment to ensure that characters were able tell a coherent, shared story with stakes. Magpie is also a Roll20 wizard and made the digital side of the game sing. Finally, Magpie is an incredibly inclusive and welcoming person who made a group of people from across the world feel very comfortable. Treat yourself to a good time and figure out a way to play with this totally rad GM.
Magpie is an incredible GM that puts the players and cooperative storytelling above all else while keeping things grounded within the proper mechanics. Even Session 0 was done in a cooperative manner that really blew me away and helped set the tone and expectations for the players of the campaign. The campaign progresses quickly and smoothly, allowing each player plenty of speaking time, roleplay opportunities, and their chance in the spotlight. Magpie is strongly recommended for new players as she is incredibly patient and willing to politely repeat things as many times as necessary while making each mechanic as easy to understand as possible. Along with this, she has excellent judgement to not go into details about irrelevant mechanics that will come into effect in the future which allows beginners to follow more easily. I highly recommend Magpie to anyone looking to play Blades in the Dark. With her, you can rest assured that your time AND opinion will be valued and respected. My only regret is that I now have an incredibly high standard should I choose to play another TTRPG with other DMs :)

Safety
How Magpie creates a safe table
I use Lines and Veils supplemented with a custom Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist. In our Session Zero we will discuss how the safety tools work, and show how they're implemented in Foundry to make sure everyone has safety front of mind as part of our group storytelling.
