About the adventure

Tomb Of Annihilation - Join Us In The Jungle! The resurrected are dying again. Slowly. Painfully. And no magic in the world can stop it. If you’ve ever been raised from the dead, you’re rotting — mind, body, and soul — piece by piece. Across Faerûn, terrified nobles, fallen heroes, and desperate kings are calling in every favour they’ve got. That’s where you come in. In Tomb of Annihilation, you’ll play as a custom-built adventurer hired to solve the greatest magical crisis of the age. Your journey will take you across the wild and ancient land of Chult, a lush, dangerous peninsula crawling with dinosaurs, undead horrors, and long-lost secrets. You’ll start in the dazzling coastal city of Port Nyanzaru — where dinosaurs are raced for sport and merchants rule like kings — before venturing into the deep jungle where survival is a luxury and the map is mostly lies. This is more than just a dungeon crawl — it’s a living, breathing expedition. You’ll uncover ancient gods, explore cursed ruins, and face moral choices that shape your group’s destiny. Who This Game Is For? Players who love dangerous, high-tension exploration and smart, character-driven storytelling. Roleplayers who enjoy deep lore, strange gods, and general jungle-fantasy weirdness., Puzzle solvers and trap disarmers. (No really. You'll need them. I know its out of character for me...), Fans of Frieren, Indiana Jones, Dark Souls or Adventure Time!, Mostly though this game is for people who want a truly memorable campaign. Not just “we killed some bandits that one time.” We're talking “we broke into a tomb full of soul-eating gods and barely lived.”.

Character creation

Creating your character

Welcome to the jungle. Before you set foot in the death-infested wilds of Chult, we’ll need to forge your hero — or your first of several. Character creation will take place before Session 1, during a dedicated Session Zero or through direct 1-on-1 consultation via Discord. This lets us integrate your character into the world, the factions, and the horror to come.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We play using Foundry VTT hosted through Forge — you’ll need a free Forge account to access the game. All maps, tokens, dice, and visuals are fully integrated into the VTT for a smooth, immersive experience. Voice chat and session coordination happen on Discord. What All Blue Games brings to the table

This is a premium Foundry VTT campaign, hosted through Forge and designed for a cinematic, immersive experience. Each session features dynamic battle maps with highly interactive terrain, layered ambience, thematic battle music, and triggered sound effects. Spells and environments come to life with animated effects, lighting systems, and visual flair. Beautifully crafted handouts, character journals, and a carefully chosen suite of Foundry modules enhance gameplay, quality-of-life, and immersion. Your journey through Chult won’t feel like moving tokens on a grid — it will feel like stepping into a living world of danger and discovery. The story has been thoughtfully adapted from the Tomb of Annihilation module to ensure every player character is meaningfully tied into the plot. You won't just be wandering adventurers — you’ll be central figures in a vast, deadly mystery. Your backstory will influence the world around you, drawing you into personal arcs and unexpected twists. Expect to interact with a vivid cast of allies, enemies, and morally grey figures — from snake cults and merchant princes to talking frogs and trickster gods — each with their own motives and secrets. The villains here are more than monsters; they’re forces with vision and hunger. This campaign is run with a strong focus on collaborative storytelling and dramatic tension. We follow the Rule of Cool — if a strict rule gets in the way of a great moment, we’ll bend it. The story comes first, especially in key cinematic or character-driven scenes. That said, the integrity of mechanics and challenging combat still matter. We value fairness and balance — but we’ll never let rules kill the vibe when something incredible is about to happen.

Homebrew rules

This campaign uses a small number of homebrew rules to heighten tension and deepen tactical choices. The Wounded condition adds lingering consequences for dropping to 0 HP — each time you’re knocked out and healed, you risk gaining a Wounded level, which causes automatic death save failures next time you fall. These levels stack and persist until you rest, making each fall deadlier than the last. We also use Rolling with Emphasis, a dramatic mechanic where, in specific moments, you can roll two d20s and take the number closest to either 1 or 20 — embracing high-stakes risk and cinematic fortune. These rules reflect the deadly, pulp-horror tone of Tomb of Annihilation, rewarding smart play and bold storytelling.

How All Blue Games creates a safe table

Session 0 is a key part of the campaign and will be used to align player expectations, establish table rules, discuss character concepts, and identify any personal boundaries or triggers before the story begins. It also provides space to integrate characters deeply into the narrative and connect them meaningfully to the world of Chult. Every session includes a mid-session break, giving players time to reset, decompress, and reconnect — especially important during moments of heavy content or emotional weight. The campaign also follows an Open Door Policy: if at any point during a session you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or just need a breather, you're welcome to go AFK without explanation or pressure. We use X, N, and O cards as our primary in-game safety tool: X means stop immediately and pivot. N means we're heading somewhere uncomfortable — slow down or steer clear. O means all good, even during tense or emotional scenes. This campaign does feature mature and intense content, including horror, death, betrayal, and trauma. If you are uncomfortable with themes commonly found in 18+ rated media (including psychological dread, body horror, and moral ambiguity), this may not be the campaign for you. That said, player safety and fun always come first — no surprise themes, no edge for edge’s sake, and no story beat is more important than your comfort.
